As we approached South Wing, along its striking, tree-lined, driveway, we caught our breaths when we saw the house and, on viewing, knew immediately that this was to be our family home. Together with our four children we came to live here twenty- seven years ago.
With its space and convenient layout, the house has been ideal for family life, with lots of areas for quiet study, or to pursue individual hobbies and pastimes, alongside ease of entertaining friends and family. It is very much a family home which has been perfect for us in every way. In addition, having such a large and safe external space for our children and their friends to enjoy freedom has been a huge bonus.
Our Master bedroom is spacious and bright and enjoys stunning views out into the countryside. It is very much a favoured room in which to enjoy a morning cup of tea, maybe with binoculars close at hand to enjoy the outlook and, also, the wonderful variety of birds visiting our garden.
Our main reception room also has a fabulous outlook and is an utter delight whatever the weather, or season of the year. We also take advantage of having such good access to nearby country lanes and footpaths.
We have given lots of love and care to our garden, mainly thanks to Marian, and, over the years, it has matured into this quite special and interesting area. We have colour and interest throughout the year and its space has been utilised to host several special parties over the years. We also have an enclosed courtyard where we can enjoy al fresco dining or take pleasure in sharing a glass of wine.
What they will miss and why are they leaving: After all these years, the house has now outgrown our requirements and it is time for us to move. There are so many things we will miss about living here, especially the magical sunsets, alongside utter peace and tranquillity. We have been so happy here and know that whoever decides to live here, will be as happy and contented as we have been.
