2 Milford Lane is set in the heart of one of my favourite Mid Devon villages. Thorverton is very sought after and being so close and commutable to Exeter, makes it extremely popular.

This is quite a unique property and I must say, I was surprised at the space on offer here. From the outside it's humble appearance doesn't give a lot away but stepping inside, you have the best of both worlds - an 1800's cottage with a lot of character, combined with some modern fittings, generous room sizes and the flexibility to have a small self contained flat to the side or indeed increase the current living accomodation. It is a typical village cottage, quite quirky and very individual.

A glazed front door takes you into the sitting room, with its beamed ceiling, panelled walls and large stone fireplace and hearth, you really can feel the properties history in this room. There is logburning effect gas stove set within the fireplace.

A step up leads into the kitchen, which has a range of units and an integrated double oven and hob. There is ample space for all your other appliances here and for a small table and chairs.

A further door leads into the utility area, presently a secondary kitchen for the downstairs bedroom and shower room (this could easily be let as a seperate entity, as it has side access making it self contained). Here are dark gloss units and space and plumbing for a washing machine. The shower room is modern and, next door to this, there is a good size double bedroom with a feature stone wall. To the side is a covered alleyway leading to the front of the cottage. This is a great drying space and invaluable for storage, however could provide the access if you decided to let this side of the property.

Upstairs is a surprisingly large landing! With further panelled walls and original doors, it really is like stepping back in time. There are some quirky shelves and a stone ledge adding to the history.

There are three bedrooms on this level, two of which are good size doubles and at the end of the landing, a nice family bathroom.

Alas the property does not have any outside space of its own, but a few yards down the road is the beautiful Millenium Green. Five acres of green meadow with a stream. This was created to preserve an open space for villagers and visitors to enjoy this beautiful meadow planted with native trees, flowers and grasses. It is a lovely addition to the village and something they are very proud of.

Parking is available on the roadside nearby.

Thorverton lies midway between the market town of Tiverton and the cathedral city of Exeter. Thorverton is an ancient village with an array of interesting cob, local stone and thatched buildings. The village has two pubs, a church, chapel, primary school with pre-school, a community-run village shop and post office, plus a farm shop on the outskirts. The village centre is very pretty and there is a an active village hall.
