“The location is fabulous. There are no neighbours nearby but we’ve never felt isolated as everything we need is easily accessible, including shops and a great range of restaurants. It’s ideal for golf enthusiasts as we live next to the golf club and we also enjoy taking our dog Buster for long walks in the countryside.”

“The large garden is south west facing and enjoys the sun throughout the day and into the evening. The countryside views are stunning all year round and the farmer keeps it looking at its best. There’s always some interesting wildlife to see, including squirrels, red kites, and pheasants, as well as a huge variety of birds who live in the hedges. The garden is fully enclosed, so it’s perfect for animals and children, and it’s a great spot for relaxing and entertaining on the decking and BBQ area. Shire Lodge is a real party house as there’s plenty of room for guests to mingle outside and the indoor bar opens out to the hall and dining room which is great when we’re entertaining friends and family.”

“It’s hard to choose just one favourite room as we like them all. The lounge is a cosy space to relax in a comfortable chair and our bedroom is absolutely huge with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. It’s so peaceful with nothing but the sound of birdsong to break the silence, ” conclude the owners.

Village information

Bury is a quiet village to the south of Ramsey. Holy Cross Church has a prominent position within the village and dates back in parts to the Normans and is a listed building. Within the village there is small shop for everyday needs and a village pub, The White Lion, which is family friendly which also serves food. The small market town of Ramsey is within walking distance and offers gp and dental services, a range of shops, restaurants and eateries.


Bury is convenient for the A14 and A1 providing fast access into Cambridge, Huntingdon and Peterborough. London is an easy commute with fast trains into London King’s Cross and St Pancras available from Huntingdon station.
