About this property
Architecture and interior
“Norma” is of the Groningen Tjalk type of Dutch barge, a rare survivor which has been meticulously restored to her original condition retaining her original elegant lines which attract much admiration amongst the boating community both in the UK and beyond. This type of barge with her double ribbed beams makes her hull much stronger and was designed for coastal sailing.
There is a light and spacious wheelhouse which is currently used as a Dining Area. Down to a large open plan cabin which is filled with light and has an unusually high and very attractive wooden ceiling. Fully fitted kitchen with cooker, grill, sink, fridge, freezer, microwave, washing machine, dryer. Three good sized cabins, two separate toilets, shower with pressurised water system. Good headroom throughout the barge. Lots of storage.
“Norma” makes a wonderful central London home to non-boating people. It’s not essential to have knowledge of boats, engines and boating equipment to enjoy this special lifestyle. However, if “Norma” is fully equipped and ready to motor or sail down river or beyond across the Channel.
