***Vendor's comments *** "We fell in love with the property for its location, quietness and quality. For us, looking for a buy-to-let property, it ticked all of the boxes that we had in mind for what people look for in a home. It was a short walk from Croydon town centre, which has grown and developed so much in the 8 years since we purchased the flat. The transport links were incredible, allowing us to easily get in and out of central London, as well as, enabling easy access to Gatwick and the south.
The standard of the flat was to a high specification, versus other similar properties we had seen in the area nearby - we were impressed by how modern and up-to-date the flat was and were especially impressed with the view from the living room, which looks over a memorial park that's full of trees. As a top-floor property too, the flat benefits from no noise above, good insulation and heat, plus little to no obstruction of light - the living room, in particular, is always flooded in light, which we knew would be a big win for people wanting to make a home there.
The property has been owned for 8 years and lived in by four sets of tenants, all of whom have stayed for at least a year. The current tenants have thoroughly enjoyed the property, and I know they have appreciated the quiet and security of the property, enabling them to raise their family in comfort.
After purchasing the property, we completed a redecoration throughout by painting the walls white, removing old skirting and installing new lights in the storage cupboard. Over the time we have owned the property, we have also updated the en-suite shower system and unit, plus strengthened curtain rails and door lock systems. We also installed a new washing machine on the property, and three years ago, we installed a wholly new boiler and flue system. We also recently replaced the cooker top and washing machine in the last year.
Our reason for selling is simply to free up our investment so that we can put it toward our own homes in the future. We are not in a chain, meaning that we can keep the process as quick as possible from our side."
