Location
This unique property stands in the centre of Forest Row, a very popular and lively village on the borders of East/West Sussex and the northern extremities of the Ashdown Forest with its 6,400 acres of heath/woodland for riding (by permit) and walking. The village itself has an extremely wide and varied range of local shops, specialist stores, mini supermarkets, cafes and restaurants. The area is well served with a selection of both state and private schools, including a village primary school, Greenfields, Rudolf Steiner Michael Hall, Cumnor House and Brambletye. There are bus services through the village to the towns of East Grinstead, Tunbridge Wells and Crawley all of which provide further more extensive shopping and leisure amenities. There are also rail services to a number of London stations from these towns. The City of Brighton and the South Coast is within twenty five miles. There are good walks locally via the Forest Way Country Park on the edge of the village, which is also a cycle/bridle path to East Grinstead, and through the villages of Hartfield, Withyham to Groombridge to the east. Places of interest locally include gardens at Wakehurst Place, Borde Hill and Sheffield Park. There are steam railways at Groombridge, the Spa Line to Tunbridge Wells, and the Bluebell Railway from Sheffield Park to East Grinstead linking up with the main line.
