In our opinion this is an absolutely fabulous family home which ticks all the boxes for stylish and practical day to day living. There are few opportunities to get 5 double bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, plenty of off road parking for any large family and a massive garden for parties and socializing. The whole property is just a great long term family space. So why not take the virtual tour and then book your private viewing. We know you will be impressed.
What attracted you to the property when you first bought it?
We were initially attracted to the property because it was spacious with a big drive and rear garden. The house had been neglected for years and was very rundown, but we could see its potential.
The rooms were good sizes and had plenty of space for a growing family. We liked the fact that the house was setback from the road which was safe, having three children and a is also within walking distance of all local amenities such as the school, local pub and shops. The train station is five minute's walk and gets to London in under an hour. The village also has a great medical Centre and you can get an appointment within a reasonable time.

What improvements have you made to the property during your tenure ?
We have improved the house in many ways in the last 23 years. The first thing we did was convert the double garage into a big bright lounge that leads straight into the garden. We put a large shed and log cabin in the garden and replaced the fencing with double gates into the garden. We have converted the loft space into two double bedrooms with a shower room in between the rooms, which is a perfect space for teenagers. The main bathroom was modernised in the last few years. We knocked two bedrooms into one and installed fitted wardrobes and an ensuite to create a big master bedroom. We expanded the hallway to make it wider, as it felt very small and dark originally. We had the house repainted and replaced the front door and added a window to the hallway, which is now spacious and bright. The kitchen was replaced recently and has integrated appliances. The new utility room has a sink and houses a washing machine and tumble dryer. The downstairs toilet and sink were replaced at the same time.We have installed a large decking area as there were steps out into the garden, it is now level when stepping out great for gatherings and sitting in the sun. We planted trees when we moved in and now have mature apple, pear and plum trees

What have you enjoyed about living there ?House has been a great family home bringing up three children.

They were able to walk to primary school once old enough as it’s only a few doors up the road. We love the fact we have parking for a lot of cars as all our children had a car each.We also have easy access to all the great facilities the village offers. The garden is so private and not at all overlooked, it gives a real feeling of being in the countryside, although within the village.

We also have the option to walk to the train station and get to London within the hour, which initially attracted us to Marden due to work. We love our house and made it just the way we wanted it but it is now time to downsize as our children are grown up and left home.
LocationMarden provides local stores for all the day to day necessities including hairdressers, post office, pharmacy and bank. There is also a Medical Centre, Dentist and Vet. There are a variety of places to eat including two public houses. The village also boasts a library, a primary school and sporting facilities.

Within walking distance, the mainline station offers rail links to London Bridge, waterloo East, Cannon Street and Charing Cross in under 60 minutes.

The property is within the catchment area for the Maidstone and Tonbridge Grammar Schools with other highly regarded educational facilities also available locally.
