Description
Bell Cottage is a truly unique coastal residence, nestled into the tranquil banks of the River Dart located on South Town providing easy access to Dartmouth town centre. Originally serving as a coach house to a nearby manor, the property has been carefully converted and extended over time, now offering a beautifully arranged four-storey layout that maximises both space and uninterrupted river views.
The entrance to the property is set behind two impressive stone pillars and a wooden gate, leading into a glazed porch laid with terracotta tiles. From here, a door opens into the spacious kitchen/dining room, featuring dove grey shaker-style cabinetry, exposed beams and a delightful fireplace. River-facing windows flood the space with natural light and offer captivating views of the water.
Upstairs, the former hayloft has been transformed into a characterful living room, complete with bespoke built-in storage and a thoughtfully placed window seat, the perfect place to unwind and observe the river life.
On the lower floors are two generous bedroom suites, each with its own walk-in wardrobe and en suite bath or shower room. The principal suite occupies its own floor and is tastefully presented with elegant décor and enjoys stunning estuary views. The second bedroom, on the garden level, benefits from French doors that open onto a private stone terrace, ideal for morning coffee or evening drinks with a view.
Also on the garden level is a conservatory with arched recess, currently used as a second dining area, offering a warm and inviting space to enjoy the outlook in all seasons. An additional terrace, ideal for barbecues and outdoor entertaining, adjoins the conservatory both providing panoramic views of the River Dart. There is off road parking for one small car to the left of the gated access from South Town.
