Charming and versatile village house set on a plot of about 2.97 acres with paddock and stables
Description
Greyfell is a characterful former public house converted to residential use, located just off the village green in Bendish. The house offers substantial and versatile accommodation with a large ground floor area that is presently configured to provide a self contained annexe with sitting room, bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. Externally the house enjoys a plot of about 2.97 acres with paddock and stable affording potential for use as an equestrian facility as well as extensive outbuildings and lovely garden and orchard.
The house is approached through five bar gates to a graveled parking area with space for up to eight cars. An entrance vestibule leads though to a reception hall/sitting room with parquet flooring and fireplace with log burner. There is a triple aspect country kitchen with oil fired Aga, additional electric oven and hob, tiled floor and space for dining table. Off this is a utility room which leads through to a boot room and guest cloakroom. From the reception hall a study/library has double doors through to the annexe sitting room. This is an attractive room with brick fireplace and log burner and has doors to a ground floor bedroom, bathroom and a second kitchen breakfast room. The kitchen also has an Aga and a boot room with door to garden affording a private access if required. If the annexe isn't required, the bedroom could double up as a study and the kitchen could be used as a further family room.
On the first floor the main bedroom is split between dressing room with feature fireplace, bedroom area and a large en suite bathroom with freestanding bath and separate shower cubicle. The second and third bedrooms share use of a family bathroom. From the first floor landing a wooden staircase leads to the loft area offering two loft rooms with roof light windows.
The house is set within lawned gardens with mature hedging, specimen trees and various flower beds and two caged soft fruit bush enclosures. Next to the parking area there are a number of linked storage sheds and workshops extending to about 50 feet in length. There is also a barn suitable for use as garaging or further storage and to the rear of the formal garden an orchard with various pear, cherry, plum and apple tree varieties. Beyond this there is a paddock with open sided stable and a further vehicular access.
