Owners Comments...
I have loved being in this home since buying it in 2011.
It’s great that you walk out of the front my door and be surrounded by countryside.
The garden is peaceful with the occasional sound of the train in the distance and i’ve hosted summer bbq’s for the family and friends, in the winter there’s nothing better than to sit by the fire in the lounge with a glass of wine.
The open spaces on the doorstep have been great for walking through the years - as are the local pubs! I love The Bell at Grazeley Green and the Elm Tree at Beech Hill.
I love this location as Reading town centre is less than 15 minutes drive, easy access to London on the train from Mortimer, and Heathrow is a 35 minute drive.
I know that the new owners of Fairview Cottages will enjoy this home and fabulous views as much as I have!
Dan & Neil Estate Agents’ comments...
Built in the late 1800s, this gorgeous character home is packed with original features and sits in a lovely semi-rural spot surrounded by green space.
You’re welcomed by a handy entrance porch, perfect for coats, boots and muddy wellies - before stepping into two great reception rooms. There’s a lovely big dining room at the front and a second spacious lounge in the middle, ideal for cosy nights in.
The galley-style kitchen is a real standout and is full of charm, with a beautiful Belfast sink and lovely finishing touches throughout. At the back, there’s a modern bathroom with cast iron radiators that give it a lovely period feel. Upstairs, the split staircase adds even more character. At the front, the main bedroom has stunning views over the fields, while bedroom two is a good-sized double and bedroom three works perfectly as a single room or study.
To top it all off, there’s a private rear garden, a proper little retreat.
If you love homes with character, this one’s definitely worth a look!
Area Comments...
This peaceful little spot gives you the best of both worlds, a proper village feel with green space all around, but just a short drive from everything buzzing in Reading. Whether it’s shops, restaurants, or a night at the cinema, it’s all on your doorstep without actually being on your doorstep.
Grazeley itself has a lovely community vibe, with a few handy bits right on hand, think local store, post office, and pharmacy and the kind of quiet, countryside pace that makes it easy to unwind. If you’re into the outdoors, you’ll love it here. There’s countryside in every direction perfect for walking, cycling or just stretching your legs and the Kennet & Avon Canal nearby is ideal for a stroll, a scenic bike ride or even a lazy afternoon on a boat.
With the M4 motorway only 10 minutes away and Reading station under 20 minutes, commuting is still an absolute breeze from here! It’s a proper village, but with all the perks of being close to the action. What’s not to love?
