Owners' Insight

"When we first saw Seascape in 2019, we knew we had found something special. Nestled on a peaceful, leafy street just a few minutes’ walk from Livermead Beach, the house felt like a rare gem, a blend of historic charm and seaside tranquillity. From the very beginning, it felt like home. Living here has felt like a holiday that never ends. We’ve spent countless evenings on the south-facing terrace, sipping cocktails as the sun sets, or firing up the barbecue with friends and family. It’s a home made for living well and loving where you live.
As we prepare to move on, we do so with a heavy heart, but also full of gratitude. Seascape has been more than a house; it’s been the setting for so many cherished memories. Laughter echoing through the garden on summer evenings, winter mornings watching the sea mist roll over the bay, and lazy afternoons lounging on the terrace under the dappled light of the trees, we’ve loved every minute. Here’s to many more memories made by the sea."

Our Sympathetic Renovation

"Seascape dates back to the late 1800s, and one of our greatest joys has been lovingly renovating the house, bringing it up to modern standards while preserving the period character that gives it such warmth and personality. We added traditional touches throughout, carefully balancing the old with the new, and in doing so, made the house a true reflection of the landscape it belongs to: Timeless, elegant, and full of life. The most recent enhancements have been a new slate roof, and completion of the parquet flooring."

Our Location

"Our location has been the heart of everything we’ve enjoyed. Just a five-minute stroll to Livermead Beach, that has provided countless peaceful walks, spontaneous swims, and quiet moments watching the tide roll in. A favourite walk is along the seafront, either toward Torquay Harbour, with its cafés and boats bobbing on the water, or to Preston, where we’ve spent many sunny days at our beach hut. Having Cockington nearby has been another unexpected delight. The country park, with its winding lanes and ancient woodland, offered us a world apart, somewhere to wander, reflect, or simply enjoy the changing seasons. And being so close to a wonderful local primary school has made life easy and meaningful, our children have thrived here, part of a warm and welcoming community.
We hope the next owners will find the same joy, peace, and sense of belonging. There is something truly magical about living so close to the sea in Torbay, and Seascape has been the perfect place to experience it."

Step Inside

Steeping through the sheltered storm porch and vestibule with ornate tiled floor, glazed double doors open to the impressive reception hall with oak parquet flooring, central turned staircase, and cloakroom. The sitting room is a beautiful, triple aspect room with warming log burner set on a polished slate hearth, oak parquet flooring, and French doors opening to the paved terracing and rear garden from where the stunning sea views into Tor Bay are enjoyed. Kitchen/Dining Room & Utility

From the reception hall glazed double doors open to the striking kitchen/dining room, with the oak parquet flooring followed through. A picture window and wide French doors bathe the room in natural light, linking the extensive terrace and garden, and commanding views to Tor Bay. The kitchen is beautifully appointed with a range of two tone units with central island which houses a wine chiller, and polished quartz work tops with inset twin ceramic sink. Provision for range cooker with inbuilt extraction over and space for American style fridge/freezer. The separate utility houses the gas boiler and provisions for a washing machine and dryer. Personal doors to the garden and garage, which is presently used as a home gym.

Four bedrooms and the family bathroom lead off the landing, with all of the bedrooms enjoying views towards the sea at Tor Bay. The principal bedroom features a double aspect and luxurious en-suite shower room. Bedroom 2 has a dual aspect with French doors opening to a balcony overlooking the rear garden, bedroom 3 is a comfortable double, and bedroom 4 is currently utilised as a home office. The family bathroom is tastefully appointed with claw and ball slipper bath, separate shower cubicle, wash basin and WC. The bathroom also enjoys the sea view.

Second Floor

The turned staircase continues to the second floor guest suite/bedroom 5, enjoying arguably the finest views from the property taking in Brixham's Berry Head around to Torquay's harbour mouth and the Lincombes hillside.
