***Vendor's comments*** "Our house is a perfect family home. From the first time we walked down the little cul-de-sac of Spencer Place and through the sun-drenched front garden into the bright kitchen and open-plan dining-living room, we just knew this was the house for us. For the last four years, it has been our quiet relaxing haven in the middle of bustling Croydon.
We immediately fell in love with the spacious feel and the abundance of natural light this home offers. The spacious bathroom with large windows, the skylight in the kitchen, and the French doors leading onto the back patio and garden were all standout features. We hosted many dinner parties, and the open kitchen near the dining area meant we could chat while cooking. The kitchen even has a wine fridge, a dishwasher, and an extra-large fridge-freezer. The utility room or office with an additional front door is extremely convenient and adds extra space to store coats, shoes, and the washing machine.
We love spending time in the gardens which add extra living space to the house and provide a place to soak up the summer sun. It is very rare to find a property in busy Croydon that has both front and back gardens and is easy to maintain. This was one of our favourite features. We also have a private parking space which is another rare find.
Our neighbours are wonderful. We have built great friendships and Spencer Cottages give you a real sense of a tight-knit community.
Living here also made it possible for us to finally add a dog to our family. Our cockapoo Rupert has loved living here.
Upstairs, we have two lovely spacious bedrooms, both doubles which is again a rare find.
Another key thing we love is the amount of storage on offer. One room has two built-in wall-to-ceiling wardrobes, and the other has space for a vanity desk and wardrobe. If that is not enough, there is also access to the loft with a boarded floor which is a great plus for extra storage or the opportunity to extend and add an extra bedroom (STPP). An extra bonus is the new boiler which was installed in February this year.
There are plenty of great pubs with delicious food nearby. We especially love The Oval and The Bedford Tavern. Several Co-ops, Tesco Express, and Lidl make food shopping easy. We have been very happy in our home and had planned to stay in Croydon for many more years. However, Kendra has been offered a fantastic job opportunity in Scotland which is also nearer Richard’s family, so we have decided to move north.
Selhurst is a stone’s throw away. East Croydon is a 15-minute walk. Crystal Palace with its fantastic Sunday food market is a short bus ride away. We also love jumping on the tram to Wimbledon which is only 30 minutes away to enjoy long walks with Rupert on Wimbledon Common or do day trips to Surrey, Kent or Sussex. Our house is perfectly located for great transport links into London or Brighton, with direct trains to London Bridge or Victoria in under 15 minutes from East Croydon station. It is just 20 minutes door to door for Gatwick Airport which is another great plus for quick city breaks or exotic holidays."
