Property Details
Diamond Cottages are situated in Warren Row, a charming village nestled in the Berkshire countryside, approximately three miles to the east of Henley-on-Thames. Its convenient location makes it a popular choice for commuters, with excellent transport connections via the nearby M40 and M4 motorways. The Nearest mainline train stations would be Twyford and Maidenhead for the Elizabeth Line. The village also boasts a well-liked local café, frequented by both walkers and cyclists.
With accommodation set over three floors, the property offers a charming open-plan kitchen, dining, and living space, complete with a feature wood-burning stove. There is also a shower room on this floor and access directly onto the rear garden.
On the first floor, there are two bedrooms, one benefiting from fitted wardrobes. The top of the stairs provides access to a handy loft room, ideal for a study/hobby space/occasional sleeping area.
Outside
The home is accessed via a generous driveway, offering off-road parking, there is a log store and bin cupboard. To the rear, the pretty and mature garden is arranged into a variety of sections and includes several outbuildings, as shown on the floorplans. While rear access does not constitute a legal right of way, it does allow for enjoyable walks into the adjoining woodland.
Why the owner loves the property:
Before we bought our home in Warren Row, we used to pass Diamond Cottages on the way to Henley from Maidenhead. We always thought it was such a lovely village.
Warren Row, surrounded by woodland and fields, feels like you are in the countryside yet still close to everything you need.
2 Diamond Cottages was the only house we viewed when it came on the market. Even though it was a cold, wet day in January we loved it straight away. The long garden backing onto woodland just blew us away. The cosy log burner and character of the cottage.
There is a genuine village community; we have an annual BBQ on the green and other fundraising events are organised by the residents committee but also there’s no pressure to get involved either.
Warren Row has really interesting history. There is a network of chalk caves where the wine merchants is now based. During WW2 aircraft components were manufactured there and later it was one of the secret regional seats of Government. We went to a wine tasting there, just fascinating!
The cafe is very welcoming and the village has a tin tabernacle church. Even if you are not a regular church goer, Christmas Eve service singing along with friends and neighbours is a special memory for us
There are footpaths covering miles of the area and less than a 10 minute drive to the Thames. Ancient woodlands at the back of Diamond Cottages means we have stunning walks from the door and often get to see the deer herds pass by. We will miss this hidden gem!
