Beautifully presented four bedroom detached contemporary house in a peaceful location to the centre of a good village.
The Dwelling
Poppas Lodge was built in 2011 and was substantially extended in 2018 to create a well-balanced contemporary family home. The rendered exterior sets the tone which is continued throughout the interior with the use of engineered Oak floors, underfloor heating and Aluminium bifold doors on the ground floor and two stylish bath/shower rooms on the first floor. There is however a nod to the traditional in the principal bedroom that has a lovely vaulted ceiling, complete with the a-frame exposed. This is a very polished house indeed.
Accommodation
The property is conventionally arranged around a central hallway, with the kitchen/dining room to one side, a sitting room that flows through to family room behind to the other and a utility room to the end. The sitting room centres around a brick fireplace with an inset woodburning stove, with to one side bifold doors that open out onto the gardens and to the other a second set of bifold doors that flow through to the family room. The kitchen has an eating area to one end with space for a good sized farmhouse-sized dining table with a set of bifold doors onto the garden with, to the other end, a fitted kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with a comprehensive range of floor and wall mounted units and cupboards with hardwood worksurfaces over and a butler's sink. Integrated appliances include an electric double oven, a five ring gas hob and a dishwasher. To the end of the hall is a utility room that is again well equipped with a comprehensive range of floor and wall mounted units and cupboards, has a second butler's sink and a door out to the rear.
Upstairs the principal bedroom is a wonderful vaulted room with an en-suite shower room, with the three remaining bedrooms sharing a family bathroom with a shower over the bath. The property is in excellent decorative order throughout, has double glazing and gas fired central heating.
Outside
The property is approached along the private road laid to gravel with parking to one side for two or three cars. On this side of the property there is a raised paved terrace with steps down to the back door, with to one side a series of raised vegetable beds. To the other side of the house a paved terrace stretches the width of the house and makes an ideal entertaining area during the Summer months. Beyond the terrace the garden is for the most part laid to lawn edged by mature herbaceous and shrub planting. Tucked away in one corner is a useful timber outbuilding that is fully insulated and equipped with light and power that would make an ideal studio or home office.
Services
Mains gas, water, drainage and electricity are connected. Gas fired central heating.
