A Few Words From The Sellers - We've called Twyford Village home for 27 years, drawn by its rural setting and amenities – local school, shop, and proximity to Buckingham and Bicester (both 6 miles). When our family grew 11 years ago, we simply moved half a mile within the village, we loved it here that much! We're now seeking our next chapter:
a property with substantial land closer to our children. After 20+ years managing a large village allotment alongside our home garden, I want to combine both passions into one space where I can pursue gardening projects impossible on an allotment. With the children grown, it's time to realize these dreams. We will miss our home and the village tremendously, but ultimately, we feel the time has come to depart for pastures new.
What drew us to Twyford to begin with? Twyford offers a vibrant community with village hall activities including yoga, Pilates, and art club. The annual village pantomime sells out quickly, involving local actors and artists. The well-regarded village school serves pre-school through Year 6 with wraparound care available. The Village Green hosts football and cricket, plus a children's play area. Poundon Pastures (under 2 miles) provides secure dog walking. St Mary's Church holds Christmas fayres and community events throughout the year. Practical amenities include weekly Post Office service at the local Chapel (Thursdays 10am-12pm) and monthly coffee mornings with table-top sales. Marsh Gibbon offers full postal services including online packages and banking. The volunteer-run village shop provides personal service with homemade refreshments – a highlight i'll truly miss.
