About this property

  • Private garden

Generous three double bedroom bay-fronted end of terrace Victorian house. The ground floor has pleasingly been extended over the side-return. You also have useful cellar and loft spaces.

Find your new home on a quiet, residential, tree-lined street in Nunhead, bordering Peckham. Enjoy what both towns have to offer.

For stations, you are positioned between a choice of three: Nunhead (eight minutes), Queens Road Peckham (eight) and Peckham Rye (13). All are Zone 2 and the latter two offer London Overground services, while Nunhead delivers handy Thameslink services.

A neat walled front garden sets the house back from the pavement. In your front door and you have an opened-up double-reception to your left. Stripped floors and high ceilings impress. Your second reception is tastefully wallpapered, and has built-in alcove shelving and cupboards.

At the foot of the hall is a door on your right to your useful cellar (of 155 square feet) - great for storage. Then straight ahead is your main event: The large open-plan kitchen/dining room with space for casual seating as well. It is over 22 feet by nearly 14 feet. To complete the ground floor tour, you have a (windowed) downstairs/guest w.c.

Your part-walled garden - complete with mature palm tree - is accessed via folding doors. This is a decked and low-maintenance affair, lending itself beautifully to entertaining your favourite people in fine climes.

Upstairs, from the half-landing, you have a big double bedroom to the rear of the house. This is over 14 feet by nearly 9 feet.

The property’s main bathroom is next door. This is modern in style, with neat white sanitary ware and large profile tiling.

From the landing proper, there is another double bedroom to your right. A pale grey carpet, alcove shelving and a double glazed window feature here (the house has double-glazed windows throughout).

The twin-windowed principal bedroom spans the width of the house, to the front. It is 15 feet by 11 feet, with a large bank of custom-made closets to one wall.

Kids or thinking of? Edmund Waller Primary is close and popular with local families, and Banana Moon Day Nursery is popular for smaller ones, on nearby Machell Road.

Local green spaces include the Telegraph Hill Parks (cute Saturday market worth a mention in the lower park), Peckham Rye Park and Common, and Nunhead’s beautiful Victorian cemetery.

Nunhead Lane is but a short walk, for an active community centre and independent shops and cafes etc. These include Ayre’s bakery, Soper’s wet fish shop, Goodcup/Goodnights, Mother Superior and El Vermut (bottle shops), and BARD4100. And Peckham Bazaar on nearby Consort Road is a great spot for Balkan food and a top wine list.

For pubs/bars, The Hollydale is nearest and has pop-up foodie nights. The Old Nun’s Head is close, too, and a great local (quizzes, music, dancing, community events and a fab Sunday lunch!). The Pyrotechnists Arms is also close and under new management following a full refurb (one of the oldest surviving pubs in the area - built in 1874 - its name reportedly comes from its historic regulars who were workers in a nearby firework factory).

Nunhead is strong on community stuff. Examples are Nunhead Community Choir, an annual film festival, art trails and even Christmas carols on Nunhead Green. Peckham Community Sauna is a new and popular local addition in the railway arches- accessed on Brayards Road.

The area around Queens Road Peckham Station is busy with established and new places to eat and drink. We like Peckham Cellars, Beer Rebellion, Well & Fed, and Blackbird Bakery.

The Bussey Building and Copeland Park are also a short walk for the trendiest of pop-up eateries, drinkeries, exhibitions and the like. Check out trendy Peckham Levels, too.

The ‘triangle’ at the end of Peckham Rye Park and Common's 113 acres is also bustling with places to spend your pennies; Mr Bao, Funkidory and Banh Banh being a few.

Bellenden Road, Choumert Road, Blenheim Grove and Rye Lane provide more food and drink options (we love Artusi, The Begging Bowl and Ganapati) and Peckham Plex Cinema is a long-established favourite, committed to films with accessible ticket prices (£5.99).

Camberwell, New Cross and Deptford are also no great distance for further options.
