“Sellers Insight” West End Cottage has been our much loved family home for over 38 years. It has grown with us over time and been the venue for many happy gatherings, large and small, milestone and just for fun, shared with family and friends.
We love that the cottage is unique in its design and built in the local subtle pink Tremore granite, quarried from just down the road.
The wraparound garden has many spaces in which we sit back, relax and take in the far reaching views, watch the birds soar and enjoy the peace and tranquillity.
Each September we have great fun harvesting the apples from the four traditional cider apple trees which have been here much longer than us. The cider we make is ready to be enjoyed by Christmas; the end result is always eagerly awaited.
In winter we love to get the wood burners roaring and settle in for cozy fireside evenings.
For us it is time for something new but we will leave with many happy memories.
Step inside Originally built c1902, with sympathetic and considerable renovations in the 2000s, this exquisitely presented three bedroom home is elegantly crafted throughout.
The outer porch leads to an inner hallway, from where heritage wooden doors lead to a reception room and separate snug, each with cosy multifuel burner. The tasteful décor in every room is bathed in light from the generous double glazed sash windows, enhancing the crisp white walls, areas of exposed stonework and individually crafted woodwork, and lovely high beamed ceilings.
The beautifully proportioned dining room, with bifold doors to a sunsoaked patio with attractive pergola, leads to a fully fitted kitchen with high-spec appliances including a double oven Rangemaster and a useful breakfast island with electric hob; this airy room offers a welcoming heart of the home for friends and family, with a separate fitted utility room, second lobby and powder room to the rear. Stairs lead up to a soaring landing; from here are three generous bedrooms – principal with ensuite shower room – and a contemporary family bathroom with separate tub and generous shower.
Step outside The sweeping lawns, delightful patio and cider orchard with heritage Cornish apple varieties, offer a wealth of retreats in which to enjoy the tranquillity and far reaching views. The garage with workshop area has storage above, and ample parking to the front for several vehicles.
The handbuilt shepherds hut has the same exquisite attention to detail as the rest of the property, with a woodburner, fully fitted shower room and pretty kitchen area; an ideal space for additional guests to have privacy.
The property benefits from mains water, and electricity, oil fired central heating and private drainage.
