A two bedroom first floor flat forming part of this charming Grade II listed former Coaching Inn, situated at the heart of the historic village of Charing with access to a mainline station, doctors, school and village shops.
This beautiful building was mainly constructed back in the 16th century but some parts are believed to date back as far as the 12th century. Originally constructed from timber, it was refaced with brick sometime in the 17th century like many other properties along Charing High Street.
Formally a coaching in, it was known as The Old Swan Hotel, a place for weary travellers to rest. An iron bracket that still protrudes from the front from which the original inn sign once hung still remains.
The building was subsequently converted into 9 apartments in more recent times, each distictive in their own right retaining the character of the building but meeting the demands of modern life with gas central heating, allocated parking, a communal garden and partial use of the property cellar.
The property benefits from a communal entrance hall with individual entry phone system, private entrance hall 17’1” sitting room with inglenook fireplace and views of the High Street, contemporary kitchen and shower room. There are then two bedrooms - large double and a single that have folding doors dividing the two, so if required, this could be opened up to create one large bedroom.
Outside, the property enjoys the use of a communal courtyard garden. Off road parking is afforded by way of one allocated space in the parking area of Elizabethan Court, just off the High Street. Additional storage space is provided in the communal cellar with an allocated storage area.
