What's on offer...
The spacious entranceway with handcrafted stained-glass windows sets the tone for this restored family home. Double wooden doors lead onto the spacious living room with working fireplace, perfect for cosy winter evenings.
Off this you'll find a more formal dining room with space for a full-sized dining table and complete with original bay window, restored coving and solid wood floor, and another working fireplace.
This seamless blend of old and new continues into the kitchen area at the rear, where double height windows and overhead skylights flood the space with light, showcasing gorgeous units, a practical central island and charming country-kitchen details such as an aga. There's ample space for a dining table and sofa - ideal for everyday family life or entertaining guests.
In warmer months, open the rear doors to extend your living space outdoors. The cobbled courtyard garden with mature flowerbeds and trees is the perfect peaceful retreat for morning coffee or al fresco dining. From here you can access the double garage and workshop - a rare addition in this part of London - and the street through an electric gate.
Also on the ground floor is a well-proportioned office/ music room, which makes a great work from home space, a bathroom with WC & shower and a utility room.
Upstairs you'll find four double bedrooms, two with en-suites and two with vaulted ceilings, all reached by a large landing. The family bathroom is finished to a high standard, featuring a generous bathtub.
A word from the owner...
This has been our family home for many years. We doubled the size and lovingly restored it to make it welcoming, ideal for entertaining and a bright comfortable home. When the family and grandchildren are visiting it is perfect for everyone. My favourite room is the large sunny kitchen which is great for entertaining and relaxing; the Aga keeps it snug and we hardly ever turn the heating on as each room is insulated, making it a very economical house! The courtyard garden has its own rainwater system, which doubles as a relaxing water feature and a source of water for the plants. Being in Whitton it is ideal for transport, schools and the activities for all ages that are available in the Richmond Borough and I can be in central London in under an hour. I am never short of a lovely café to meet up with friends, it is so convenient with a good variety of shops. The neighbours are always friendly and helpful, and it’s a moment’s walk to beautiful Murray Park and Twickenham rugby ground. The property is situated within walking distance to Whitton High Street with a wide range of shops for your convenience and Whitton Mainline Station which serves London Waterloo on the fast services in less than 30 minutes. The local Infant and Junior Schools are Chase Bridge, Nelson, Bishop Perrin and St Edmunds. The local secondary Schools would be The Richmond Upon Thames school, Turing House or Twickenham Academy. Other benefits are local bus routes including the 110, H22,281 and 481. Whitton also benefits from several parks and open spaces including Murray Park & Crane Park.
