A note from the homeowners - We fell in love with Farlands Lodge on our first viewing ten years ago. After living in the city, it’s the most peaceful retreat. We’ve enjoyed sitting in the garden and listening to the birds, drinking wine on the patio through the most glorious sunsets, and marvelling at how beautiful the lodge and the woodland look when the light hits it just right. We have had the deepest nights’ sleep here and the most wonderful Christmases in the snow with the log burner going and the Aga on. We’ve loved walking up to the local pub with the dog for Sunday lunch, where she gets her own bowl of meat. And most of all, we’ve loved the feeling of seclusion, living in our own private part of the Peak National Park, in a house that’s part of the history of the area, whilst being only a short walk from the village.
Farlands Lodge is perfectly positioned — just a 15-minute walk to the local pub, and only a 20-minute walk or five-minute drive into the heart of Hayfield Village. Hayfield itself offers a wonderful selection of amenities, including award-winning pubs, a butcher, greengrocer, post office/general store, pharmacy, a variety of charming cafés and an Italian restaurant.
Approached via a gently meandering woodland driveway, with private access serving only a small hamlet of homes, Farlands Lodge enjoys a truly peaceful and secluded setting — while remaining effortlessly connected to everything this vibrant village has to offer.
This exquisitely stylish and immaculately presented home is rich in character, offering an abundance of standout features. Think hand-crafted carpentry, solid oak doors, and a bespoke kitchen by multi-award-winning joiners Jack Badger. Throughout the property you’ll discover original oak beams, vaulted ceilings, open fireplaces and timeless stone floors – all blending seamlessly to create a home of charm, warmth, and superior high quality.
The spacious and flexible layout makes it as practical as it is beautiful. Adding to its appeal is a separate annexe which could quite easily be converted into an additional 4th bedroom suite, perfect for visiting guests or older teens seeking independence - even as a highly desirable Airbnb/holiday let providing an additional income stream.
The location is equally as special. Hayfield is a much sought-after village offering endless countryside walks, cosy eateries, independent shops, hotels and award-winning pubs such as the much-talked-about "Pack Horse" which features proudly in the good food guide 2025 & number 18 Top 50 Gastro Pubs 2025/Michelin Guide 2025. The village also boasts a well-regarded primary school and plays host to a variety of popular annual festivals and community events. For commuters, Manchester City Centre is under an hour away by car or from one of the nearby train stations, making Hayfield the perfect blend of country living with city connections.
All in all a truly wonderful home, offering the best of both worlds – an enviable countryside lifestyle with luxurious interiors, fixtures & fittings - yet all within easy reach of local amenities. A rare find, this is a home where elegance and rural tranquillity meet.
