Spacious Two Bedroom House For Sale In The Popular Chingford Area

Edwardian period two bedroom house for sale in the sought-after area of Chingford. Spacious and well-maintained, the property offers original features, a practical layout and lovely design touches. Chingford has a great community feel and is blessed with exceptional local amenities and great travel links.

Approaching through the small, paved front garden, you’ll notice the property’s impressive architectural features, including carved corbels and a double-story bay window with striking gable above.

The hallway offers modern decoration and original, renovated floorboards – a theme carried through most of the ground floor space.

The front reception room benefits from the large bay window and also has an original cast iron fireplace and bookshelves built into the alcoves.

The second reception room offers comfy living space and a partially open-plan feel, flowing through to the kitchen via part-glazed double doors. There is a wood and granite surround and hearth fireplace, with a working gas faux coal fire. An alcove under the stairs provides access to built-in storage. A second alcove hosts a feature wall, creating the sense of a separate space, ideal as a reading nook or play area. Another part-glazed door leads to the kitchen’s utility area.

The main kitchen area is laid out in an L-shape, with lots of circulation space. A range of grey painted units are topped with white work surfaces, perfectly complementing the dark grey and white flooring. The units and flooring extend into a predominantly glazed extension, used as a utility area, with plumbed-in space for a washing machine, plus a door leading out to the garden.

The large south-facing garden is a real luxury in this area, and offers a large, paved terrace leading on to a lawned area. There’s also a useful timber storage shed and outside cloakroom.

The family bathroom is fully tiled with a slate-grey floor and white walls with a mosaic border, and houses a WC, wall-mounted basin and a bathtub, along with wall-mounted storage and a heated towel rail.

Bedroom two is a good-sized double looking out to the garden and includes built-in storage. Bedroom one is a generous double spanning the full width of the property, and benefits from the bay window plus an additional window, and another cast iron fireplace set into the boldly painted chimney breast.

Chingford is a popular area with exceptional amenities just around the corner on Chingford Mount Road and surrounding areas, and has plenty of supermarkets and retail parks close by. There are also some excellent local hospitality businesses, including Candy Floss Creperie, La Rocca, Ates Tas Firin Turkish restaurant and the Jam Shack Caribbean restaurant.

For commuters, Highams Park station is a twenty-minute walk and will take you into the centre of London in just another twenty minutes, and the A406 North Circular is less than a mile. The local primary school is an easy five-minute walk and there are several high schools within reach. Chingford also has access to some fabulous green spaces, including local parks and playing fields as well as Ainslie Wood, the Walthamstow Wetlands, Larks Wood and the Chingford Plain.

Sellers comments
I have lived here for 10 years and enjoyed the community; neighbours are wonderful and we look out for each other. I love the bus stops being so close and often jump on a bus to North Chingford for bars and restaurants, or to Walthamstow or Black Horse Lane for the underground into town. I also walk to Highams Park on a nice day. The train to Liverpool street only takes 20 mins. I've redecorated the interior in the last 5 years. Externally the house was repainted last year. I have decided the time has come for me to retire to a bungalow.
