This smartly laid-out mid-terrace Victorian home in Walthamstow’s desirable Markhouse Corner comes with two double bedrooms and 798 sq ft of well-used space and a stunning private 35-foot rear garden. Thoughtfully finished and beautifully kept, it’s also brilliantly located-just a short stroll from St James Street overground for a quick dash into the city, and within walking distance of the Walthamstow Wetlands if you're craving a breath of fresh air or a bit of wildlife watching. It really does offer the best of both worlds: Urban convenience with nature right on your doorstep.
If you lived here...
Tucked behind a neatly clipped hedge, this brick-fronted Victorian home feels instantly inviting-a house with real heart, ready to welcome you in.
Inside, the reception and dining room provide a real sense of space and flow. Sunlight streams through a wide bay window dressed in crisp white shutters, while original wooden floorboards and a cast-iron fireplace nod to the home’s heritage. The alcoves on either side are already set up for storage and display with cupboards and shelving conveniently built in -ideal for books, art, or your favourite treasures.
Through a set of double doors lies a cleverly designed galley kitchen. With cabinetry running on either side, thick wooden worktops, and warm terracotta hexagonal tiles underfoot complete with underfloor heating, give the space a rustic charm. Integrated appliances, including a handy double oven, keep things streamlined. Glazed doors at the end flood the space with light and open directly into the garden, creating a seamless connection to the outdoors.
Next door, the bathroom has a touch of timeless elegance. Shiplap panelled walls and vintage-style brass fittings add character, while a bath and shower combination with rain-head invite long soaks. The sink sits atop a repurposed wooden chest of drawers, bringing warmth and individuality to the room.
Upstairs, two double bedrooms continue the theme of natural charm, with stripped wooden floors and generous light. The larger sits at the front, overlooking the quiet residential street through twin windows (157.92 sq ft), while the second, slightly smaller, offers leafy views over the garden and includes built-in wardrobes for added convenience.
Out back, the private garden is a true highlight. A gravelled terrace offers a spot to unwind, while a tidy lawn and thoughtfully planted borders-lavender, rosemary, and pops of colour from seasonal flowers-lead you to a peaceful area by the shed. It’s an ideal setting for a relaxed meal, morning coffee, or evening wine, all in your own slice of green heaven.

A word from the owner...
"We have loved living here and have lovingly renovated the house to bring out its original period charm and character. For us it’s the sheer variety of Walthamstow that makes working and socialising here so enjoyable. We have particularly valued the easy access to central for work, the houses closeness to nature, particularly the marshes and local proximity to so many great independent businesses - we are Blackhorse Road breweries regulars, love heading to our local Crate on a summers evening and our favourite restaurants are Slow Burn at Blackhorse and Ruffs in the village for Sunday roast. The street has a lovely community feel - we will be sad to leave!"
