About this property
This four-bedroom house sit just minutes from the dunes and the wide sandy beaches of Camber Sands, Kent. Subject to a sensitive renovation, the beautifully proportioned living space spans an open-plan lateral layout across 1,500 sq ft; walls of glazing and skylights make the most of the brilliant coastal light. To the rear of the house, a private south-facing garden is the perfect spot to unwind. The popular town of Rye and its train station are a 10-minute drive away, providing a direct route to central London in just over one hour.
The Tour
A smart, white-painted gate opens onto a gravel driveway with parking for multiple cars. A glass-panelled front door unfolds onto a bright entrance hall. Here and throughout the house, the walls and ceilings are clad in white-painted timber, with matching floorboards underfoot.
In the sitting room, a wall of glazing fills the space with light, while French doors unfold onto the garden beyond. A log burner is set against exposed brickwork washed in white, while skylights and rafters run overhead. The adjoining open-plan kitchen and dining area is custom-built, with hand-crafted units, marble worktops and brass fittings. Timber sliding doors with reeded glass panels can be used to divide the kitchen from drawing/family room to the rear.
There are four generously sized bedrooms, each with a good provision of storage. The principal bedroom sits at the front of the plan, bathed in natural light pouring from an expansive bay window. The two bathrooms have been beautifully finished with decorative enamel wall tiling and reclaimed fixtures and fittings.
Outdoor Space
The expansive south-facing decked terrace provides exceptional panoramic views. Orientated towards the late afternoon sun and drenched in golden light in the later hours, it makes for a perfect pavilion for summer lunches or an early-evening sundowner.
The garden, predominantly laid to lawn and home to fruit bearing trees, is bordered by structured beds of wild grasses, bold verbena, elaeagnus and tamarisk. A handsome white clapperboard summer house sits centrally providing a wonderful spot to enjoy the garden from in more robust weather. Gates at the foot of the lawn lead directly onto the dunes.

Camber Sands and Greatstone are also considered to be among the best and most popular kite and windsurfing beaches on the south and east coasts.
Within ten minutes’ walk is the excellent Gallivant, a well-regarded dune-side restaurant with bar, beach-huts and rooms. The historic town of Rye is approximately four miles away and has a wide range of local shops, pubs, restaurants and a primary school.
