Owner's Comment
"i've lived in this house for about ten years now — I moved in with my young family, and it’s just been such a happy, comfortable home. Over the years, we’ve done some updates — a new kitchen and bathrooms to help the space flow better, and we added solar panels, which makes the house really efficient and warm. It’s bright and airy throughout, which i’ve always loved.
We also made some small changes to improve how the house works for family life — like adding a pantry in the kitchen (my dad actually helped with that), and creating a little utility area in the garage. Just little things that made day-to-day life easier.
The garden has honestly been one of my favourite parts. It’s very private and secure, and people often stop to comment on how beautiful it is, especially when the wisteria is in full bloom — the kids even call it “The Mysterious” because it looks like something out of a fairy tale. It's surprisingly low maintenance too, but still colourful year-round and very productive — we get raspberries, apples, cherries, pears, and plums.
The conservatory has been a lovely space — we used it as a playroom for the kids, and it connects really nicely to the garden, so it’s great in all seasons. In winter, it even helps warm the house a bit because it gets so much sun.
As for the area, it's been a brilliant place to live. The street, Gorse Way, is really friendly — the neighbours are lovely, especially next door, and we’ve made some great friends nearby. There’s a play area with open space that the kids have used a lot as they’ve grown up, and there are little alleyways that take you safely into town without needing to walk along busy roads.
We’re within walking distance of the town centre, the swimming pool, library, shops — everything’s close by. The schools are excellent — both primary and secondary — and it’s made things so much easier for us as a family. There’s also Filham Park nearby and lovely walks out towards Long Timber Woods and the moors. It really has been a fantastic place to live."
