Balmalcolm is a small village situated on the A914 between Cupar and Glenrothes. The village is set within beautiful countryside in an area known as the Howe of Fife and offers excellent walking and cycling routes, whilst only ten minutes from the amenities of the nearby towns. Local buses pass through the village regularly serving St Andrews, Dundee, Glasgow and Edinburgh, and the nearest train station is less than two miles away in Ladybank. The local primary school is Kettle Primary School in the neighbouring village of Kingskettle, and high schooling is at Bell Baxter High School in Cupar.
