Description
This charming semi-detached cottage is thought to have been built around the 1880s as one of two workers cottages forming part of the Rothschild Estate. The property has been extensively extended and renovated over the years also with new flooring and carpets fitted throughout within the last few years. Nestled in this lovely village, the property is ideally located overlooking the neighbouring allotments and farmland beyond. The accommodation is full of character with good ceiling heights, attractive gardens and driveway parking.
The reception hall leads through to a light airy modern kitchen/breakfast room, with views to the neighbouring allotments and ample space for a dining table. The kitchen itself was extended and fully refurbished in 2025 and is well-appointed with a range of units complemented by quartz worktops and integrated appliances. The spacious dining/sitting room, features French doors to the garden at the rear. Also leading off the hall is a cloakroom, ample storage and a cosy snug/office with built-in bookshelves and cupboard. Leading off the snug/office are the stairs to the first floor.
On the first floor the principal bedroom enjoys fantastic views over the garden and beyond and benefits from attractive built-in storage. There are two further bedrooms, one a double and one a single both with built-in wardrobes and both having lovely views over the attractive allotments. All three bedrooms are served by a recently renovated luxurious family bathroom. Overlooking the gardens, the bathroom has been recently updated and modernised with traditional fittings to include a large shower, bath, pretty Victorian style tiles and a heated towel rail.
Approached through a recently installed electric five bar sliding gate on to a large private gravelled driveway with room for multiple vehicles, the cottage enjoys delightful heavily landscaped south facing gardens giving a lovely backdrop to the property. The main area of garden is to the rear of the house and consists of a walled terrace giving a shady refuge plus well-stocked shrubs and flower borders, abundant with fragrant roses. Large areas of lawn are dissected by various flower beds and a path leads out via a pretty beech hedge and mature trees to an allotment beyond. To the side of the house is the garden lodge a bespoke build by Crown Pavilions, finished with clay tiles to match the main house and comprises three rooms; a gym, an office/guest room and a toilet with a sink basin.
