Description
Dating back to the mid-19th century, Haymaker Cottage is a charming family home situated on the edge of the popular village of Hook Norton, providing bucolic views. Having been under the same ownership for over 10 years, the property has been sympathetically improved and maintained over time, creating generously proportioned and light accommodation throughout. The versatile layout extends to approximately 1484 sq. Ft providing a warm and inviting atmosphere.
The ground floor comprises a useful entrance porch with a tiled floor opening into a welcoming reception hall. Doors lead through to the sitting room and dining room, creating an easy flow through the ground floor accommodation. The sitting room exudes character, featuring the original tiled floor, an exposed brick fireplace with a wood-burning stove and exposed oak lintels. Both the kitchen and living room sweep into the stunning vaulted, oak framed entertaining room. This bespoke feature is a recent addition, crafted from local Cotswold stone with limestone flagged floor and double height picture windows affording uninterrupted views of the church and across the valley to the village. Plenty of storage and a downstairs cloakroom benefit the property too.
At the heart of the cottage lies the dining room, with solid Maple wood flooring and a central chimney breast, ideal for family gatherings or entertaining. Leading off the dining room is a versatile family room offering dual aspect and oak panel flooring. The kitchen is well-equipped with space for appliances and white goods. The outlook provides delightful countryside views, while a double Belfast sink, granite work surfaces, and a range of fitted cupboards and drawers complete this practical space.
Upstairs, the property benefit from three bedrooms, all of which are light and spacious. The principal bedroom includes an adjoining room, offering flexibility and further potential for either a walk-in wardrobe or en suite. There are two further bedrooms which are facilitated by a family bathroom.
Outside, there are both front and rear gardens, which have been beautifully maintained and mostly laid to lawn. The low maintenance rear garden provides both al fresco dining space and wonderful views across the valley to the village church. Gated side access and garden shed, gravelled driveway to the front with ample parking.
