About this property
Very cool three double bedroom bay-fronted Victorian terrace of 1121 square feet, with a sunny south-facing part-walled 'city' garden.
The house has lots of pleasing period features (stripped/treated boards to the floors, high ceilings, sash windows are examples) and plenty of welcome creative flourishes, too. We particularly rate the oversized floor-to-ceiling Crittall doors out from the kitchen/diner, the bold decorative scheme (including on-trend colour-washing), and the William Morris wallpaper in the second reception.
Find your new abode on a side-street near central Camberwell (a few minutes by foot), and 15 minutes from Oval (for Northern line services) and Denmark Hill (Windrush line and regular rail services) stations. Bus travel is notably excellent from nearby stops on Camberwell Green and Camberwell New Road. Permit-parking is on-street.
From your hall you have your traditional double-reception to your left, with big bay window to the front (custom-made privacy shutters to the lower panes here). The whole room runs over 23 feet. Set up dining and living spaces as you desire.
At the foot of the hall you have your kitchen/diner of over 22 feet by nearly 11 feet. A second bay window (next to the side-return space) impresses, and is a natural spot for your table and chairs/casual through to formal meals with your favourite few. The garden off the back here is a great future project, or keep things low-maintenance.
Upstairs now and at the rear of the house you have double bedroom number one. This is graced with cloud patterned paper to the walls. It is over 9 feet by nearly 11 feet, with a sash window and a built-in wardrobe.
Next door is a generous windowed bathroom, with both free-standing bath and a wet-room style independent shower area. Traditional-style fittings and a marble-topped wash stand further impress.
From the main landing you have bedroom two to your right, of over 11 feet by over 9 feet. Then across the front of the terrace is your principal twin-sashed bedroom (views over public greenery here), of 15 feet by nearly 10 feet. Wonderful wide pink stripes to the walls are teamed with deep green walls and all woodwork.
We should mention that the handsome house has obvious scope to extend (neighbours have gone up into the roof space - adding another bedroom and bathroom).
A great house and a great spot to boot. Camberwell has loads of top wine bars and nice places to eat and shop, beyond your handy high street essentials. Check out newcomers Palacsinta (wine bar and creperie), Caravaggio gelato (gelateria), Veraison Wines, Little Cellars, Gladwell's (for luxury groceries including a Turner & George meat counter) and The Kerfield, plus established spots such as The Camberwell Arms, Hermits Cave, Grove House Tavern and Nandine. The Bear is your lovely most local pub (with tasty small plates), on the corner of Camberwell Station Road. Opposite this, tfc is a top local store for fruit, veg, and fresh Turkish breads.
Camberwell Green has a sweet Saturday market, and is where you'll also find the local library. The leisure centre (with Victorian pool) is also close to you, plus a Puregym and various yoga/pilates places.
For more social and leisure options, head north to Oval and Kennington, west to Brixton, or east to Peckham.
Local green spaces include Myatt's Fields, Ruskin and Kennington Parks.
