Step inside
Improvements throughout the property, both internally and externally, have transformed this home into a beautifully finished contemporary space. Every room reflects exceptional attention to detail and a sense of luxury.
The stunning open-plan kitchen/dining room is beautifully fitted, featuring a central island, Corian worktops and a full range of AEG appliances including an induction hob, four integrated multi-ovens, a dishwasher, wine cooler and fridge/freezer. Smart lighting (installed in most rooms) creates a sophisticated ambience, and bifold doors open directly onto the patio and gardens.
One of the double garages connects directly to the house and has been insulated, heated and fitted with a range of units to create a superb utility space. With lvt flooring, it has been transformed into a gym while still retaining its remote-controlled door to the driveway.
The sitting room doubles as a cinema room, with triple glazing, shutters and ambient lighting combining to create the perfect place to unwind. A snug/bedroom four enjoys doors opening to the rear garden, while a downstairs wet room provides excellent shower facilities-ideal if using this room as a ground-floor bedroom.
On the first floor, the principal bedroom suite includes air conditioning, a dressing area and a door onto a private balcony positioned to enjoy the last of the evening sun. The luxuriously fitted bath and shower room features an integrated TV and underfloor heating. Bedroom two also benefits from a stylish en-suite shower room, and bedroom three includes fitted bedroom furniture.
Step outside
Tucked away along a quiet lane, the property is approached via a resin driveway leading to two double garages-the first integral to the house, while the second includes an inspection pit and a door directly onto the rear garden. There is parking for several cars to the front, as well as an EV charging point.
The enclosed, private and landscaped gardens enjoy sun for most of the day. An area of lawn is complemented by a large patio to the side, with external lighting ensuring the space can be enjoyed long after the sun has set. Beyond the main garden, a gate leads to a further area designed as a raised viewing platform for the carnival.
Sellers insight
We moved into Colonnade in September 2008 and were immediately drawn to its unique layout, generous proportions and the feeling of openness that you don’t often find so close to town. Over the years we have completed a full renovation, transforming the property into a contemporary, comfortable home while preserving the character that first caught our eye.
The house enjoys beautiful sunrises from the office window – a wonderful way to start the day – and equally stunning sunsets from the master bedroom and balcony. It’s a home that feels connected to the outdoors, whichever room you are in.
The location has always given us the best of both worlds. Tucked away in Daws Lane, it offers privacy and a calm, countryside feel, yet all the amenities of North Petherton, Bridgwater and Taunton are close by. We’ve particularly appreciated the convenience of excellent local services and food delivery options, without sacrificing peace and quiet.
We have been incredibly fortunate with our neighbours. There are only a handful of homes here, and everyone is friendly, supportive and genuinely lovely. It’s a small community we will deeply miss – and one we’ll certainly remain connected to.
The property’s features have continuously served us well, especially the two double garages. One includes a maintenance pit, which is a dream for any car enthusiast and a rare find in a residential home.
Colonnade has given us many years of happiness. It has been a wonderful family home, a place of calm, creativity and comfort. We hope the next owners will enjoy it every bit as much as we have.
