Description
Broadstone is an attractive and well-maintained detached home, one of just three individually built properties completed in 2004 by Gerald Wood Homes. Situated in the heart of the popular village of Christow, this spacious residence offers a perfect blend of modern comfort, quality finishes, and countryside charm.
The property offers bright and generously proportioned accommodation throughout. The current owners have recently redecorated and fitted new carpets (2024), ensuring the home is presented in excellent condition. Heating is provided by an oil-fired system with underfloor heating on the ground floor.
Step into the impressive Reception Hall, where solid oak flooring flows through to the main living areas. The dual-aspect Living Room (21ft) and Dining Room both feature French doors opening directly to the garden with views of the countryside. The heart of the home is the spacious Kitchen/Breakfast Room (23ft), complete with granite worktops, a comprehensive range of units, integrated dishwasher, space for an American-style fridge freezer, and a tiled floor. The generous Breakfast Area comfortably accommodates a family-sized table and chairs. Additional ground floor features include a Cloakroom, Utility Room, and a dedicated Study-ideal for remote work or a home office setup.
A galleried landing gives access to a boarded loft and a large airing cupboard housing the hot water tank. There are four well-proportioned double bedrooms and a family bathroom. The Principal Bedroom is a stunning triple-aspect room with far-reaching views over the village, church, and surrounding countryside. This includes a Dressing Room with fitted wardrobes and En-suite Bathroom with both bath and separate shower. Bedroom Two makes a perfect guest room with countryside views and its own En-suite Shower Room whilst the Family Bathroom also features both a bath and separate shower, with tiled flooring.
The property is approached via a private driveway (owned by Broadstone), with right of way for the two neighbouring properties. There is off-road parking for 2–3 vehicles in front of the Garage, which features an electric door. An adjoining shed/store houses the oil-fired boiler and provides useful external storage.
The gardens are mainly laid to lawn and wrap around the side and rear of the house, offering a peaceful, private garden with a paved path and mature shrubs.
Situation
Christow is a highly sought after vibrant village with a beautiful church, shop, Post Office, tennis courts, village hall and the highly regarded Artichoke Inn. The surrounding countryside is particularly unspoilt being within the Dartmoor National Park and offers excellent opportunities for outdoor pursuits. The Cathedral City of Exeter is approximately 9 miles to the North East and provides superb retail, educational and recreational facilities, a mainline station, access to the M5 motorway and an expanding airport with national and international flights to numerous destinations.
