A Spacious First Floor Apartment On The Edge Of Maidenhead Town Centre And Next To Oldfield School
The Sellers View...
I moved into Burghley Court in mid 2019 as my first step onto the property ladder. It came in a timely manner, as with covid around the corner, I was unknowingly moving out of my parents just in time to have my own space to be locked down in, and work from home with some peace and quiet. The block is quiet and residents in the building are friendly. Whether you are on your own like I was, or with a young family, the building will suit both, and that is who the majority of residents are.
The building is in a great area of Maidenhead, just 5 minutes walk from the River Thames in one direction, and 10 minutes walk into the heart of the town centre the other direction. For heading into London for work or pleasure, the station can be reached in 15-18 minutes walk too. Within 5 minutes walk of the apartment there are a couple of small corner shops for emergencies, a pub, a restaurant, a pharmacy and at least two parks. For families, it's in the catchment area of one of Maidenhead's best primary schools.
If you are driving, within 10 minutes drive you have multiple large supermarkets, the M4, Maidenhead town centre, several gyms, Braywick Leisure Centre, Braywick Nature Reserve and more. For surrounding towns, 20 minutes drive will get you to Windsor, Henley, Marlow or Bracknell. So if like us, you have plans to go to the cinema in Henley, dinner in Bracknell, sightseeing in Windsor or a relaxing stroll in Marlow, it's all within a stones throw.
I redecorated the whole place upon moving in, painting every wall and ceiling, replacing all the flooring and chan updating the electrical fittings and sockets. The hard flooring in the living room and corridors is particularly high end. Since then I haven't felt the need to do anything major, apart from have my fiancé join me in 2023, who helped spruce the place up a little!
The apartment is south facing and gets sunlight all day. The windows don't look out over the busy road, nor over the playground area, so it feels like we have our own private little corner. The apartment has ample storage with large cupboards as well as built in wardrobes in the main bedroom, while having both a main bathroom and en-suite is that extra bonus.
After 6 enjoyable years in the apartment, we are looking to move somewhere with an extra room or two to accommodate our need to both work remotely while also hopefully starting a family.
