In July, the annual music and arts festival takes place in Petworth, with other concerts and activities taking place throughout the year. There are numerous sporting activities available in the area, including several local golf courses, racing at Goodwood and polo at Cowdray Park.

Rail services are available from Pulborough a main line station (less than 7 miles away) offering a regular service to Gatwick Airport and London Victoria taking 72 minutes. Haslemere station (14 miles north) provides a frequent service to London Waterloo taking from 49 minutes.
