***Vendor's comments*** "From the moment we viewed the flat, it just felt like home. It’s bright, cosy and incredibly welcoming, with a layout that works beautifully day to day. The location was a huge draw too, being so close to the station with excellent links into the city, while also having great pubs, cafés and green spaces on the doorstep. It genuinely ticked every box and we’ve loved living here.
We’ve owned and lived in the property for four very happy years, and over the past year we’ve completely refreshed the flat. Every room has been repainted, new flooring laid throughout, lighting upgraded, and both the kitchen and bathroom improved. We were just settling in and enjoying the results when we found out we were expecting a baby, a very exciting next chapter, but one that means we’ll soon need a second bedroom. The upside is that the next owners will be able to move straight into a home that’s been thoughtfully updated and ready to enjoy.
One of the things we’ll miss most is how everything is right on our doorstep. Within a five-minute walk are some brilliant local favourites, including Four Boroughs and Extraction Coffee @ 241 for great coffee, The Jolly Sailor and The Portland Arms for a relaxed pub atmosphere, Little Mouse wine and cheese bar and Mama Dough pizza for a treat, and Brown & Green for brunch. We also love spending time in South Norwood Country Park and around South Norwood Lakes, and Crystal Palace is just a 10-minute drive away.
The transport connections here are excellent. The station is only a two-minute walk away, close enough to be incredibly convenient but far enough that you don’t hear the trains. Trains into London Bridge take around 12 minutes, making it under 20 minutes door-to-door, with Shoreditch reachable in just over half an hour and regular services to other key destinations, including King’s Cross. It’s also reassuring knowing that if there’s ever a delay, you can wait at home rather than on the platform.
This flat holds so many special memories for us. It was our first home together and the first place we truly made our own after years of renting. We even stopped at Four Boroughs on the way to our wedding. We’ll miss the sense of community, the fantastic local spots and the unbeatable connections into the city. It’s been a wonderful place to live and we hope the next owners love it just as much as we have."
