Seller's comments...
"Our parents moved to the Old Silk Mill after downsizing from their family home of some 35 years. Though the new flat needed some work, they were able to see past that and embarked on a refurbishment plan of their own. Once complete, it provided the most wonderfully secure and cozy home. It was always spotless and well tendered, easily manageable and provided such a safe haven for them. You could not envisage how well the flat was presented from standing outside, everything was new and it looked like a show home ... Just the way our Mum had intended. Our Dad loved having his own private patio, no matter what time of year, he would find the opportunity to sit peacefully outside. From our perspective, there was a sense of real protection at the property, not only did we have the safety net of 24/7 support but there was also a strong community support network. We knew that there were many others looking out for each other as they were all in similar stages of their lives. We have so many fond memories of this flat along with a real sense of pride the way Dad did it all up. Mum absolutely loved her new home .... It was their little enclave and though they did not get to enjoy it for as long as we had hoped, it was a wonderful home. We hope that whoever moves in, they are able to recreate the special bond we had with the flat and reap the benefits we all enjoyed."
Adam's (estate agent) comments...
It is incredibly rare to find a ground floor retirement apartment in Twyford that has been fully refurbished throughout, and this superb home offers exactly that.
Beautifully presented and ready to move straight into, the apartment is spacious, modern and thoughtfully designed for retirement living, making it an ideal choice for anyone looking to downsize without compromise.
The property features two generously sized bedrooms, a stylish and expertly designed bathroom, and a vast open-plan living and dining area that provides plenty of space for both relaxing and entertaining. The modern fitted kitchen is equally impressive, while the boiler and heating system were fully replaced and upgraded during the renovation, offering peace of mind and efficiency.
One of the standout features is the private patio area, perfect for enjoying a morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening.
The development itself is exceptionally well maintained and benefits from 24/7 on-site support, a communal lounge with kitchenette hosting regular coffee mornings and social events, and a picturesque communal patio area set along the banks of the River Loddon. For visiting friends or family, there is also a guest suite with twin beds available.
Parking is plentiful and hassle-free, with ample residents’ and visitor parking on site.
This is a truly fantastic opportunity to purchase a refurbished retirement property in a prime Twyford location, and early viewing is highly recommended to fully appreciate everything on offer.
