A Note from The Homeowner
I moved here in 2024 as wanted to come back home with my children to be closer to family & friends. It’s been so convenient walking to my son’s primary School at the end of the road, and we regularly enjoy dogs walks and games of tennis at Sol Joel park which is just a short walk away. On the rare evening off i’ve enjoyed popping to the local pub for one of their regular quiz or karaoke evenings, or jumped on the bus which is just a 10 minute ride into town.
The garden has been a real passion project for me and i’m glad to see the bluebell and daffodil bulbs starting to pop their heads up ready for spring. We’ve enjoyed lots of summer evenings out there, it’s a peaceful spot to enjoy a glass of wine and chat to the resident robin the visits regularly.
I chose Amherst Road as it is lovely and quiet, with the Victorian houses full of character and charm. My children have enjoyed playing with neighbours children and we’ve made some great friends in the couple of years that we’ve been here. The local shops are also really handy for a quick loaf of bread or trip to the post office. There is also a fab coffee shop just a few minutes walk, the perfect stop on our way to walk around the university lake.
We’re moving onto somewhere bigger but will remember our time here fondly. We’ve created lots of lovely memories here and i’m sure that the next owners will do the same.
Agent’s Thoughts
This is one of those homes that just feels right the moment you step inside. It’s warm, cosy and full of character, with exposed floorboards, tasteful decorative touches and a layout that works really well day to day. Upstairs, all three bedrooms are good sizes, including the third. No box rooms here, which is super for growing children.
The garden enjoys lovely morning sunshine and is a great extension of the living space, especially in the warmer months. There’s also clear potential to adapt the house over time, with the option to rework the front bay to create additional bedroom if needed.
It’s been really well cared for and that shows. A character Victorian home in a quiet, well-connected spot, with warmth, flexibility and plenty of potential.
We look forward to showing around.
