What the owners love:
This home and Northfields is very dear to us. We moved here during our first pregnancy and later welcomed our two boys, making this the backdrop to so many happy family memories.
In winter, we love lighting the log burner and enjoying cosy evenings in the living room.
The kitchen/dining room is the heart of our home. It’s a large, social space where we cook, eat, play and host, allowing us to all be together in one place.
In summer, the garden becomes our favourite spot, especially for BBQs.
We’ve also loved being close to Lammas and Walpole Parks, enjoying them through every season.
Most of all, we’ve loved this home, the community, and the life we’ve built in Northfields.
We will truly miss it.
Why we’d buy it
This is one of those houses that just feels right the moment you walk in. Calm, characterful, and properly set up for family life.
The balance here is spot on. Period charm where you want it, modern upgrades where they matter, and still just enough scope left to add value in your own time. The loft is already done, the double-glazed timber sash windows are in, and the bathrooms are beautifully finished.
If you wanted to square off the rear one day, the house would take it well, but the pressure is off as the existing footprint is generous, and the kitchen / dining area is already a real hero - big enough for weekday chaos and weekend hosting, but still warm and social. It’s easy to imagine homework at one end, supper on the go, friends round on a Friday night, and everyone still in the same space.
Outside, the garden is low-maintenance, private, and genuinely usable, with rear access from the service alley and space for BBQs, play, and quiet coffee moments alike.
Add in the log burner, heaps of storage, stunning new family bathroom, and that elusive family feel, and you have a home that works just as well for a young family upsizing as it does for a local downsizer who still wants space and character.
Then there’s Northfields itself. Community-driven, green, walkable, and brilliantly connected. Fielding School is famously popular, but there are several strong school options nearby, plus Lammas and Walpole Parks just moments away.
This is a house you grow into, not out of.
Summary
A beautifully presented period family home arranged over three floors, offering approximately 1,557 sq ft (including eaves storage).
The ground floor hosts a welcoming entrance hall, a front reception room with a bay window and a working log burner, and a spacious semi-open-plan kitchen-dining room to the rear with access to the garden.
The first floor provides two well-proportioned bedrooms, a stylish family bathroom, and a separate study/nursery. The top floor has been converted to create a generous double bedroom with ample storage and a separate shower room.
Externally, the rear garden has been thoughtfully landscaped for low-maintenance living, with rear access via a service alley and a garden shed for additional storage.
Situated on Claygate Road, the property is well positioned for Northfields Underground station on the Piccadilly line, highly regarded local schools, an abundance of cafes, shops and restaurants, and the open green spaces of Lammas and Walpole Parks.
