About this property

This beautiful apartment lies on the top floor of a Victorian house in Kentish Town. Award-winning architect David Kohn thoroughly reimagined the space, adding plenty of bespoke plywood joinery and rich woodblock floors. Despite its proximity to the high street, this apartment has an overwhelming feel of calm and is set on a quiet residential street.

    The Tour

Stairs ascend to this apartment's private front door, set on the third floor. From here, a painted staircase with oak railings ascend to the upper level, where the living space lies. A bright, beautiful space, the room has been left open to allow for flexible arrangements. Bespoke joinery provides plenty of storage for books.

Plywood is again used to form the kitchen, a striking space with plenty of cupboards and integrated appliances. Light is drawn in from the front through a pair of squared sash windows.

Behind the kitchen is a bathroom, with sliding pocket doors and more plywood panels. This is a serene space, carefully designed to carve out storage and sustain a mid-century-inspired feel.

More sliding doors open to the bedroom, where large built-in wardrobes have been added. As with the rest of the apartment, gentle white-painted walls create a calming effect.

    The Area

Nearby Kentish Town has a first-rate restaurant, bar and pub scene; neighbourhood favourites The Southampton Arms, The Pineapple, artisanal bakery Kossoffs and The Parakeet. Nearby Bread by Bike is the go-to for freshly baked bread, and Half Cut Market serves an excellent wine menu. We've written more about Kentish Town in our Journal.

The green expanses of Hampstead Heath are approximately a 12-minute walk from the house. The Heath has freshwater swimming year-round in its bathing ponds and provides some of London’s most beautiful walks.

The apartment is minutes away from Kentish Town station, which runs Northern line and Thameslink services. Also close by is Kentish Town West Overground, which runs trains on an east-west axis, towards Hampstead Heath and Clapham in one direction, and Hackney and Stratford in the other.

Tenure: Leasehold / Lease Length: Approx. 100 years remaining / Service Charge: Approx. £800 per annum / Ground Rent: £10 per annum / Council Tax Band: C
