About this property

A charming and generous detached 3/4 bedroom family house in a popular village location close to woodland walks. Principle reception rooms and bedrooms are double aspect creating a light and spacious home.

Situated in a quiet residential position within walking distance of village shops, the local primary school and woodland walks, this really is an ideal family home. The house enjoys spacious accommodation with high ceilings (several part vaulted) and many rooms being double aspect, whilst there is a large garden to the side ideal for entertaining or for young families to play in.

Approached via an arched gate within a mature hedge the house only reveals itself once you are through the gate, and it is a charming reveal with attractive tile hung elevations, wooden porch with herringbone brick threshold and solid wood front door. The front door opens into a spacious entrance hall with attractive Camaro flooring in wild amber Oak which seamlessly extends into the principle reception rooms and kitchen. At the end of the hall is a large cloakroom.

To the front aspect are two dual aspect reception rooms; a snug/family room and the formal sitting room which has the additional benefit of a feature fireplace and wood burning stove.

The kitchen/dining room sits to the rear of the house and is the heart of the house. With a dual south and west aspect it is a lovely sunny room with fitted cream wooden shutters which complement the generous cream drawer and cupboard storage. In addition the kitchen also benefits from integrated electric oven and ceramic hob, with further space for a dishwasher and fridge freezer. There is plenty of room for a large dining table as well as occasional furniture. Tucked away to the side is a useful utility room with stable door opening onto garden.

The final room on the ground floor is a multi purpose ground floor bedroom/additional reception room. Fitted with a full wall of built in storage it would make an ideal bedroom, but is currently being utilised as a spacious study.

Stairs to the first floor open into a large landing with beamed vaulted ceiling. There are three good sized double bedrooms, of particular note is the double aspect part vaulted master bedroom which benefits from a vanity sink tucked away in one corner, and built in wardrobes to two sides. Completing the accommodation is a superb family bathroom, refitted about 5 years old it is an incredibly spacious room with roll top bath, walk in shower, plus generous built in storage.

The grounds at Oakham House are predominantly level allowing scope for a great family garden to be enjoyed.
To the boundaries around the house mature hedging offers a high degree of privacy, while to the garden end they are enclosed by fencing with a set of double gates set within, allowing off road parking; a former car port was to be found in one corner. Being laid to lawn the gardens are easy to maintain, whilst still offering scope for further landscaping and planting if desired. A garden shed tucked away provides useful outdoor storage.
