The sellers view...
Our much-loved home has been in our family for over 60 years and, for the past 19 years, has been at the heart of our own family life. It is where our children have grown up, friendships have flourished, and countless happy memories have been made. While it will be very sad to leave, relocating to Devon now feels like the right next chapter for our family.
Number 19 has been a cherished family home throughout our time here. In 2020, following the arrival of our son, we completed a loft conversion and undertook a full renovation to ensure the house continued to meet the needs of our growing family. This included a new roof, rendered exterior, front and rear landscaping, and the addition of an electric gate. Internally, a brand-new heating system was installed and the electrics were fully replaced to meet current regulations.
The layout was thoughtfully reconfigured to create warm, comfortable living spaces that work beautifully for everyday family life as well as entertaining. The bedrooms have been designed as calm and practical retreats, with floor-to-ceiling fitted wardrobes to maximise both storage and space. The bathrooms feature Roper Rhodes fittings, including a beautiful roll-top bath in the en-suite overlooking the garden, and a rain-head power shower in the downstairs shower room.
The garden has been central to many of our happiest moments. It provides a wonderful space for children to play, for families to relax together, and for hosting friends and celebrations. Over the years it has seen everything from a children’s cowboy party complete with real pony rides, to a festival-style 40th birthday celebration with camping, live music, a disco dome, hot tub and cocktail bar.
The road itself is perfectly suited to family life, with local amenities close by and excellent school catchment areas. Our children have attended highly regarded primary and secondary schools, all within easy walking distance.
Equally special has been the sense of community. Our neighbours have created a friendly, supportive environment, and the street has always felt safe and welcoming. We will genuinely miss both the house and the wonderful people who live here.
