Set back behind a generous double entry driveway, Fairhaven is a mature detached bungalow, enviably positioned within one of Torquay’s most prestigious and sought after districts. Just a short stroll from the picturesque Daddyhole Plain and the beautiful shoreline of Meadfoot Beach, the property enjoys an exceptional coastal location. Fairhaven has been a loved family home for our clients over many years and, more recently, a delightful South Coast retreat with occasional holiday letting. The property is tastefully presented, yet a blank canvas affording well proportioned, light filled accommodation with exciting potential to extend or remodel, subject to the necessary consents. Planning permission has previously been granted for the formation of four bedrooms to the first floor level with a balcony and redesigning of the ground floor level (Torbay Council planning referecne P/2018/0888). Externally, the property benefits from extensive parking and primary paved terraces, creating attractive, low-maintenance outdoor spaces.

The nearby shingle beach at Meadfoot is just minutes away and is renowned as a haven for watersports enthusiasts, including kayaking, scuba diving, sailing and fishing. Scenic woodland walks through the Ilsham Valley are also within easy reach, offering tranquil green surroundings. A host of amenities are conveniently close at hand, with Wellswood village providing an excellent selection of bistro restaurants, a traditional pub and a charming parade of independent local shops. Torquay’s busling harbour and marina lie at the base of the hill to the west.

Owner's Insight

"Fairhaven has been part of our family for over 40 wonderful years. It has been far more than just a property to us, it has been a much-loved home, filled with special memories, and in more recent years a treasured holiday retreat that we have enjoyed sharing with others.

Although our love for Torquay has never faded, the pace of our busy lives now means we simply cannot spend as much time at Fairhaven as we once did. With heavy hearts, we feel the time has come for new owners to begin their own chapter here and create memories of their very own.

There is so much we will miss, the breathtaking walks quite literally from the doorstep across Daddyhole Plain and along the South West Coast Paths, morning coffees or relaxed lunches at Meadfoot Beach Café, and leisurely strolls down to our favourite harbourside restaurant, Number 7. Fairhaven has given us decades of joy, and we hope it will do the same for its next custodians."

Step Inside

A double glazed entrance door with leaded and stained glass toplights opens to a porch and into a spacious L-shaped reception hall with storage and loft access. The characterful sitting room features a bay window with leaded light stained glass detailing overlooking the driveway, and an ornate fireplace with marble hearth. The double aspect kitchen/dining room enjoys garden views and French doors to side access and garaging. White high gloss units have granite effect worktops with sink, built-in oven, gas hob with hood over, and a deep cupboard with space for washing machine and housing the gas boiler.

The three bedrooms are all comfortable double rooms, with bedroom three offering French doors to the rear garden. The bathroom has a p-shaped bath, basin, WC and fully tiled walls.

Step Outside

A standout feature of Fairhaven is the generous driveway parking with double access leading to the single garage with personal door and rear window. The low-maintenance rear garden is mainly paved, with stepped access leading to sheltered, raised patio areas, ideal for outdoor entertaining and relaxation.
