Description
Tucked away in an exclusive enclave of just five converted barns in a peaceful and picturesque setting, this charming detached home blends character, comfort and generous living space to offer an inviting countryside retreat.
Approached via a wide, gated gravel driveway framed by mature trees and established planting, the property immediately conveys a sense of privacy and warmth. The pretty brick elevations, cottage-style roofline and attractive conservatory give the home an appealing timelessness.
The current owners have sympathetically and carefully updated the property including extending the kitchen and utility room, installed bespoke wrought iron balustrades and refurbishment of the bathrooms. Maintenance of the property includes renovations to the roof, a new chimney liner and boiler.
Inside, the inner porch opens into the impressive kitchen/dining room, which combines traditional styling with excellent functionality. With painted cabinetry, a central island, generous granite worktop space and room for a family dining table, it is a genuine heart-of-the-home kitchen. Exposed beams add rustic character, while the adjoining utility room provides practical space for laundry and household storage. An external stable door leads out to the garden.
The sitting room is a welcoming hub of the house, featuring a central brick fireplace with wood-burning stove and French doors opening directly into the bright conservatory. This light-filled additional living space offers wonderful views across the garden and provides the perfect spot for dining, relaxing or entertaining throughout the seasons.
A versatile study sits on the ground floor, ideal for those working from home or needing a quiet hobby room. There is also a ground floor cloakroom for added convenience.
Upstairs, the principal bedroom with en suite shower room and built-in wardrobes overlooks the garden. There are two further double bedrooms and a shared family bathroom.
Outside, the main westerly garden lies to the front of the property, featuring a lawn, mature shrubs and colourful planting that create a delightful outdoor setting. Three additional garden areas to the front, side and rear offer further seating spots and secluded corners to enjoy throughout the day. The detached garage, with double doors and an adjoining storage area at the back, provides excellent practical space.
