We moved into 63 Shipridge Drive just before we got married, and it quickly became a place that felt like home. It is also where we welcomed our youngest child, making it a house filled with wonderful family memories.
One of the first things we noticed was how peaceful it is here. Tucked away in a quiet cul-de-sac with no passing traffic, the area has a calm and relaxed feel that you notice the moment you arrive.
Living in the Croft Gardens development has been wonderful. It has a genuine community atmosphere, where neighbours look out for each other and there are plenty of friendly families around. The area always feels safe and welcoming.
One of the things we have loved most is the green space directly in front of the house. There is a small park which is perfect for younger children, and just beside it a quiet natural area that feels like a hidden little nature spot. We have spent many mornings and evenings walking our dog there, enjoying the peaceful surroundings without even needing to leave the neighbourhood. Occasionally we have even spotted wildlife such as deer and foxes nearby, which adds to the lovely countryside feel of the area.
The location offers the best of both worlds. Although the setting feels quiet and close to nature, you are still just minutes from the M4 and only a short drive from Reading. It makes commuting and travelling incredibly easy, while still allowing you to come home to a more relaxed village-style environment.
Spencers Wood itself has a lovely balance of convenience and charm. Everyday essentials are nearby, and the recently opened Lidl has been a fantastic addition for quick and easy shopping. At the same time, Reading town centre is only a short drive away when you want a wider choice of restaurants, shopping or entertainment.
For us, this home has been the beginning of an important chapter in our lives and where our family grew. We hope the next owners will enjoy the same sense of comfort, community and tranquillity that we have loved about living here.
