***Vendor comments*** "I bought my flat in the early 1980s and lived there happily for many years. It has always been my “little big happy home”, a place that felt welcoming, bright and full of character from the moment I moved in.
This purpose‐built one‐bedroom flat is surprisingly spacious, with a layout that never feels restricted. Being on the top floor means it is filled with natural light throughout the day and you also enjoy the peace of having no one living above you. Although the property sits above a busy road, I always found it a calm and relaxing retreat. Every room has a proper window including the bathroom and the flat has never had any issues with damp.
One of its greatest advantages is the extensive storage space within the surrounding eaves, something rarely found in similar properties.
Built in 1923, the flat retains charming original features that give it a unique personality and warmth.
South Croydon itself has a lovely, almost village‐like feel. It may not be everyone’s first thought when choosing an area, but it quickly wins you over with its independent shops, excellent restaurants along South End, friendly pubs and beautiful parks perfect for walking.
South Croydon station is only a short stroll away and there is a bus stop right outside the main door. With such strong transport links, I never felt the need to own a car.
The building comprises twelve flats under the same freeholder. The lease has 137 years remaining with no ground rent and the current maintenance charge is a very reasonable £75 per month. The flat is economical to run, with a gas boiler, smart meter and water meter.
In truth, I will be a little sad to see it go but I know the next owner will love it just as much".
