Don't forget the extra storage you will get with the benefit of the loft space
This home has been in the same ownership since being purchased off-plan in 1996, and after spending quite a few nights here myself getting it ready for the market, i’ve truly fallen in love with the pace of life. It’s located in the very last residential position of the Marina, which means you aren't overlooked at the front of the property and the views are completely undisturbed.
At the front, you look out over the boat masts and the striking white cliffs heading towards Rottingdean-it’s a beautiful backdrop for a morning run or walk along the King Charles III England Coast Path. Because it’s tucked away from the main commercial areas, it stays incredibly peaceful, and you get that extra bit of protection from the elements when the weather turns.
Being on the top floor (the third floor, which is exactly 43 stairs up) means you have no neighbours above you, and I haven't heard a peep from the neighbours while staying here. The layout is great for privacy, with the master bedroom and lounge at the back, while the second bedroom sits at the front. I loved waking up and having a cup of tea with the balcony doors open; in the morning it’s so calm, and by the afternoon and evening, the sun moves around to the back, flooding the lounge and balcony with light. One of my favourite things was looking down from the balcony directly into the water. On a sunny day, the light hits the harbour just right and you can see the marine life swimming around. Watching the divers from the training centre below is strangely meditative-it’s like having a private window into another world.
Both bedrooms are really good-sized doubles, and the layout is practical, featuring an en-suite for the master and a clever Jack & Jill bathroom for the second bedroom and guests. Whilst it's waiting for someone to bring their own style to this property, the "bones" of the home are already there, with plenty of storage areas and a great sized loft. Also, the flat comes with an allocated parking space in the gated parking area.
Living here gives you the best of both worlds. You’re only a short walk from the big asda, the cinema, and all the gym and restaurants the Marina has to offer, but once you’re back in the flat, it feels like a total sanctuary.
Whether it’s watching the sun hit the cliffs in the morning or seeing the harbour lights come on in the evening, there is a real soul to this place. It’s been a happy place for nearly thirty years, and after my time spent here, I can see exactly why the owners have stayed so long
