Fabulous Four Bedroomed Detached Home In A Smart Countryside Development Of Just Four Houses
Description
Built in 1996 by ta Fisher and tucked away in an exclusive cul-de-sac of just four homes in the sought-after Oxfordshire village of Woodcote, this fabulous property combines generous living space with stylish modern features and excellent versatility for family life.
To the front, the property offers driveway parking for up to three vehicles, a double garage, and the added convenience of an electric vehicle charging point. Solar panels are an added bonus increasing the energy efficiency of this home.
Inside, the home is bright, spacious, and thoughtfully designed, with well-proportioned rooms throughout. The ground floor includes a dedicated home office, a cloakroom, a large and welcoming lounge, and a hardwood conservatory accessed through double doors, perfect for relaxing or entertaining year-round.
At the heart of the home is the spectacular extended kitchen and dining space. Designed with both family living and entertaining in mind, this impressive room features a vaulted ceiling with Velux windows and hardwood bi-fold doors that flood the space with natural light. The contemporary kitchen is finished with elegant walnut-toned cabinetry and white worktops, centred around a substantial island with an integrated Miele hob. Additional integrated appliances include two ovens, a microwave, and a dishwasher, while a separate utility room provides practical laundry space.
There is also ample room for dining and informal living, with space for a large sofa and television, creating a true open-plan hub of the home.
Upstairs, the sense of space continues with four generously sized double bedrooms, including a principal bedroom with en-suite, alongside a well-appointed family bathroom.
The garden has been cleverly arranged into a variety of distinct zones, offering something for every occasion, from a peaceful seating area for evening drinks to a lawned space and practical log storage area. The double garage can also be accessed from the garden and offers exciting potential beyond vehicle storage, whether as a home gym, studio, or workshop. Thanks to its pitched roof, there may also be scope to create additional upper-level space, subject to the necessary permissions.
Sellers View
I bought this house from new and immediately knew it was somewhere we could truly make into a long-term family home. Built by ta Fisher, the quality and layout stood out from the beginning, and over the years we have carefully enhanced it to create a home that works beautifully for both family life and entertaining.
One of the biggest additions has been the conservatory and extended kitchen, which has become the heart of the house. It is a wonderful light-filled space that works perfectly for everyday family living as well as larger gatherings with friends and family. In the summer it opens beautifully onto the garden, while in the winter it remains incredibly cosy and welcoming with the addition of a state of the art wood burner which keeps the kitchen lovely and warm. To help with the cost of living I had solar panels installed and had the house double glazed in 2022.
What has made living here even more special is the setting. Woodcote is a fantastic village with a real sense of community and everything you could want close by. There are excellent schools in the area, lovely countryside walks right from the doorstep, and a genuine village atmosphere that is increasingly hard to find.
The location has also been ideal for commuting and day-to-day convenience, with easy access to Reading and Oxford, good transport links and straightforward rail connections into London from Reading.
It is a house that has been filled with family life and entertaining.
Debbie and Andre's View
This really is a great house at a great price. This home has a nice homely feel to it, despite its vast size. There are lots of windows with a number of dual aspect rooms, bifold doors, velux windows and a conservatory making it super light and airy. We love the openness of the hallway on entering the home.
The lounge is a great entertaining space which can be made even bigger when the double doors to the conservatory are opened. The downstairs office and utility room, mean that this home really does have everything and would be perfect for a family.
The bedrooms are all good sizes and the whole upstairs feels spacious. The standout room in this home is the kitchen, We were simply blown away when we walked into this room. The has been extended and refurbished to include a plethora of built in Neff and Miele appliances, a huge island, a wall of floor to ceiling built in units and flexible space at each end of the room enabling you to choose which end to place your dining room table and which end to have as a comfy sofa lounging area.
The log burner, vaulted ceiling and hardwood bifold doors add to the feeling of luxury and make this room super stylish and the focal point of the home. We think that this is a truly fabulous home in a great semi rural location just waiting for a family to make it theirs!
Location
Woodcote offers the charm of a village, without being too far from the shops and amenities of larger towns like, Reading, Henley and Oxford. There are some great local schools including Woodcote Primary, Langtree secondary and The Oratory. The village is also serviced by two pubs, The Black Lion & Red Lion and has a charming village green where there are regular events and sporting activities. Two stores (Co-op & Londis) provide convenience for the essentials. If you are someone that likes to get out in the country, there is an abundance of woodland & fields providing ample opportunities to explore.
