Detached self-contained cottage
Dating back to 1856, Chestnut House is an exceptional detached farmhouse full of charm, character, and generous living space, beautifully positioned above the sought-after village of Kewstoke with breathtaking views across the valley, coastline, and towards the Welsh hills beyond.
Over the years, the property has been thoughtfully improved and sympathetically renovated, successfully combining period character with the comfort and practicality expected of modern family living. Rich in original features, the home offers exposed beams, flagstone flooring, exposed stone and brickwork, wood-burning stoves, a traditional bread oven, and an impressive Aga kitchen, all creating a warm and timeless atmosphere throughout.
Arranged over three floors, the accommodation in the main house briefly comprises a welcoming lounge, formal dining room, spacious kitchen/family room, garden room, and downstairs WC. The first floor offers four well-proportioned bedrooms, a large family bathroom, and direct rear access to the terraced gardens. Occupying the top floor is a stunning principal suite featuring vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, and a beautifully appointed en suite bathroom, creating a luxurious and private retreat.
One of the standout features of Chestnut House is its spectacular setting and landscaped gardens. Designed to make the most of the far-reaching views, the gardens provide a series of practical terraced spaces ideal for entertaining and relaxing. At the top of the garden sits a covered hot tub area with lighting and power - the perfect place to unwind while enjoying sunset views across the valley in peaceful woodland surroundings. The grounds also include an area of private woodland extending almost to Worlebury Golf Course.
Adding further versatility is the completely detached self-contained cottage, offering excellent potential as a holiday let, multigenerational accommodation, guest annexe, or home business. The cottage comprises a lounge, kitchen/diner, two bedrooms, and a shower room, and benefits from approved change of use for holiday letting.
To the front, the property enjoys substantial gated off-street parking for multiple vehicles.
Chestnut House is a rare opportunity to acquire a substantial period home in a stunning semi-rural coastal setting, offering space, versatility, character, and exceptional views - all within easy reach of Weston-super-Mare, Bristol, Bath, and major transport links including the M5 motorway.

Sellers Insight
We have spent many happy years in this house, creating wonderful memories as a family. Our children grew up exploring and playing in the private woodland which sparked endless adventures and imagination. The woodland even has its own little caves.
One of our favourite things about living here has been the beautiful surrounding area. We’ve enjoyed countless family walks to Sand Bay with the children playing in the dunes and watching the incredible sunsets over the coast. Weston Woods has always been a favourite spot for peaceful dog walks, especially in spring when the woodland floor is covered in bluebells. National Trust Sand Point is another much-loved destination, offering spectacular views and wonderful walks.
The house has been the perfect place to welcome family and friends together throughout the year. In the summer, we’ve loved hosting sunny barbeques and making the most of the outdoor space, while in winter the house becomes warm, cosy and inviting. Many evenings have been spent relaxing in the hot tub, taking in the views, and toasting marshmallows around the firepit, surrounded by the beautiful, wooded backdrop.
While Kewstoke itself has so much to offer, it is also ideally located for easy access to other areas of North Somerset and beyond. One of the things we have appreciated most is being able to enjoy all the benefits of village and countryside living, while still having excellent amenities close by. Thanks to the superb transport links, central Bristol is within easy commuting distance, making this a perfect balance of rural tranquillity and convenience.
