Description
Bramshaw Villa is a handsome detached Victorian house, discreetly tucked away within a quiet cul-de-sac close to the Commons and surrounding woodland. Vale Road is well placed for a wide range of local amenities, an excellent selection of well-regarded schools including grammars, mainline stations at Tonbridge, High Brooms and Tunbridge Wells, as well as good bus links. The property also enjoys immediate access to the extensive open spaces of Southborough Common and nearby woodland.

Bramshaw Villa is a well-presented light-filled family home which has been carefully renovated and extended by the current owners. It offers adaptable accommodation over three storeys with a secluded 80’ garden.

The stunning stained glass front door is at raised ground floor level and this allows light to stream into the entrance hallway with herringbone wooden flooring, period features, high ceilings and balustrade staircase.

There is a living room on the right with attractive Victorian working fireplace, glazed tiles, bookshelves, picture rail and large sash window. Beyond this is a peaceful bedroom and at the end of the hallway, there is a highly adaptable room, currently used as a home office, with a stunning green outlook over the peaceful gardens.

Going up to the first floor, the well-proportioned master bedroom is at the front of the house and features large sash windows, fitted alcove wardrobes and attractive Victorian fireplace. Behind this, there is a second bedroom overlooking the peaceful gardens, also with original fireplace and sash window. At the rear, there is a pretty period-style bathroom with shower cubicle, freestanding roll-top bath, pedestal hand basin and more far-reaching views.

Going down to the lower ground floor level, there is an impressive open plan living space with oak flooring. A country-style kitchen/dining area with wooden worktops, open shelving and butler sink is at the centre with a comfortable family room with an open working fireplace to the front and a bright and airy garden room with large bifold leading out to the rear garden. There is a useful covered storage area at the side with secure gated access to the street.

The pretty peaceful garden is particularly noteworthy. There is a paved terrace and seating area under a beautiful flowering wisteria and vine covered pergola. There are steps down to a lawned area with mature trees, shrubs and roses. At the far end, a rose clad ornamental arch leads to a secluded paved area.

Bramshaw Villa, built c.1860, has historic connections to the governess who looked after Queen Victoria's grandchildren.
