Description
South House is an attractive and substantial barn conversion, built in 2007 and extending to approximately 2,647 sq ft. Occupying a generous plot in a wonderfully peaceful rural setting, the property combines the character and charm associated with a traditional converted barn with the proportions, comfort and practicality of a modern country home.
Approached through its beautifully maintained grounds, the house immediately conveys a sense of space and tranquillity. The accommodation is arranged entirely on one level, providing an unusually spacious and versatile layout that is both practical for everyday living and particularly well suited to entertaining.
At the heart of the home is a generous kitchen, providing an excellent space for family life and informal gatherings. Double doors open directly into the adjoining dining room, creating a natural connection between the two areas. From the dining room, a further door leads out into the garden, allowing the accommodation to flow effortlessly between the house and its attractive surroundings.
The impressive 24 ft sitting room is a particularly fine feature of the property. Triple windows flood the room with natural light while framing views across the surrounding countryside, and a door opens directly onto the garden. The room provides a generous and welcoming principal reception space, equally suited to relaxed family living or entertaining guests. The property benefits from underfloor heating throughout.
A lovely bright garden room provides an additional reception area and is perfectly positioned to enjoy the gardens and surrounding landscape. Filled with natural light, it offers a peaceful space in which to sit and appreciate the property's enviable rural setting throughout the seasons.
There are four well-proportioned bedrooms, each benefiting from its own en-suite facilities, making the accommodation particularly versatile for family living and visiting guests. The principal bedroom is especially impressive, with a dedicated dressing area, built-in wardrobes and its own door opening directly onto the garden. The arrangement provides a wonderful sense of privacy and gives the principal suite a strong connection with the outdoors.
Further practical accommodation includes an integrated double garage, with an EV charger and separate utility room, providing excellent storage.
Outside, the gardens are a particular highlight of South House. Immaculately presented and thoughtfully laid out, they are centred around an expansive lawn, flanked by mature, well-stocked borders that provide colour, texture and seasonal interest.
