1. What attracted you or your family member to the property?

My parents purchased the property in 1980, attracted by its potential to create a long-term family home. The house is a charming 1920s semi-detached property with a generous private driveway and a substantial garden, offering plenty of space both inside and out.

My father, who was a builder, saw the opportunity to renovate and modernise the property, undertaking significant improvements and extensions during the late 1980s. Its location was also a major draw, providing easy access to Maidenhead, Windsor, Holyport and Bray, while maintaining a quiet, family-friendly feel. Over the years, it has proved to be a wonderful place to raise a family and enjoy the benefits of a large garden and established community.

2. What have you done to the property, and what special memories have been made there?

The house has been at the heart of our family for over four decades. My brother and I grew up here, attended local schools, left for university, and later returned home after completing our degrees. Our mother continued living in the property until her recent move into full-time care.

Over the years, the house has hosted countless family gatherings, celebrations and milestones. It has evolved with the family, including extensions that added two bedrooms, one with an en-suite, a larger family bathroom, a kitchen, dining area and conservatory.

Approximately nine years ago, the kitchen-diner was updated and fitted with underfloor heating, creating a practical and welcoming family space. The downstairs utility room also functions as a wet room and shower room. More recently, my mother replaced the original fireplace with a wood-burning stove, creating a warm and cosy focal point in the home.

The large garden has always been one of the property's best features, providing space for family life, entertaining and enjoying the outdoors.

3. Where are you moving to?

Sadly, our mother now has advanced Parkinson's dementia and has had to move into a nursing home where she can receive the care and support she needs.

While it is difficult for our family to part with a home that holds so many happy memories, we feel it is time for new owners to enjoy everything the property has to offer. With its generous space, garden potential and family-friendly layout, it is ideally suited to becoming a much-loved home for the next generation.
