Three Bedroom Semi-Detached Home With Garage And Parking, In A Fabulous Location

A beautifully presented three-bedroom semi-detached home with timeless 1930s-inspired style, a fabulous modern kitchen and a lovely private garden, tucked away in a peaceful cul-de-sac.

Built in 1955 but designed with the much-coveted character and proportions of the 1930s, this charming home offers a wonderful blend of period-inspired features and stylish modern living. Set quietly off a private road, it enjoys a wonderfully peaceful position while still providing generous and versatile accommodation throughout.

Step inside and the welcoming entrance hall immediately sets the tone, with warm wooden flooring and plenty of useful built-in storage. There is also a handy downstairs cloakroom with shower, ideal for busy family life and visiting guests.

At the rear of the house is the real heart of the home: A beautifully refurbished contemporary kitchen designed with both everyday life and entertaining in mind. With sleek cabinetry, integrated appliances and plenty of space for cooking, dining and socialising, this is a bright and inviting room with lovely views of the garden. A fantastic space to enjoy morning coffee, family lunches or evenings with friends.

The generous lounge offers plenty of room for comfortable seating, additional storage and even a piano, while French doors open directly onto the garden, creating a lovely connection between inside and out. At the front of the room, bifold doors lead through to the dining room, allowing the two spaces to be opened up together when entertaining.

The dining room continues the light and bright theme, with beautiful wooden flooring and a feature bay window overlooking the front garden, a lovely room for relaxed family meals or more formal occasions.

Upstairs are three bedrooms, including two good-sized doubles and a smaller third bedroom which has, in recent years, been used as a home office, perfect for today's flexible way of living. The spacious family bathroom is well equipped with a bath and shower over, together with useful built-in storage.

Outside, the garden provides a lovely private setting and a natural extension of the living space, particularly when the French doors from the lounge are thrown open in warmer months.

A characterful home with a modern twist, offering generous living space, excellent storage, a superb kitchen and a wonderfully peaceful location, all wrapped up in a very appealing 1930s-inspired style.

Sellers View

We have lived in this house for 37 happy years. The neighbourhood is safe and friendly. Neighbours are caring and respectful. Street parties and sharing cake has brought Greystoke Road and Grosvenor Rd residents together on many occasions.

Walking along a leafy private road feels like stepping into a calm environment after a busy work day.

Our home feels light and airy, warm in winter, cool in summer. We love to host family and friends - there is a sense of space and relaxation enhanced by a sizeable patio, fountain, trees and plants. A feature is the kitchen which was designed with a specialist to echo the feeling of space but at the same time give the maximum amount of storage and a useful breakfast bar.. Oak flooring has transformed the dining area and entrance hall.

Life with children 0-18 has revolved around local nursery and schools within walking distance. Easy bus journeys into town have enhanced teen independence.

Commuting to London and various University destinations has been made easy by train - the station a pleasant walk through Kings meadow and over a pedestrian bridge.

A local magazine - the Caversham Bridge - keeps everyone up to date on local activities and tradespeople.

Local shops including corner stores and pharmacies are also within easy walking distance. We will be truly sad to leave what has been a great home for us.

Debbie and Andre's view

There is so much that we love about this property which will continue to make someone a fabulous family home for many years to come. There is a large driveway with parking for several cars and a garage. We love the 1930's look to the home with the typical large bay windows which let the light stream in. The home owners have created a lovely dining room at the front of the property and we love that they have added bifold doors to the lounge, making this a really versatile and usable space regardless of whether you are having a large celebration or a quiet night in.

The kitchen has also been really well done with a great refurbishment which looks and feels very high end. It's light and fresh and with its built in appliances and wall to wall storage, you won't be short of places to put everything. Downstairs is completed with lots of built in storage and a cloakroom and shower, which we think is super handy.

We love both the bay window in the front bedroom and the views over the garden in the rear bedroom. The smaller bedroom at the front is currently being used as an office but has room for a single bed and wardrobe.

The garden at the rear is great for barbecuing or simply relaxing in peace during a summer afternoon!

Location
The location is fantastic. Located on Greystoke Road which is accessed via the private Grosvenor Road, this home benefits from the quietness created by the road it adjoins combined with its cul de sac location, but without any maintenance fees attributed to private roads (=all of the benefits with none of the costs)! It is walkable into Caversham centre with its independent shops, cafes and restaurants and Reading Station (so great for commuters). It's also very close to the beautiful Balmore Park with its breathtaking views over Reading and just a short walk to great local schools. All In all a perfect place to live we think!
